Three’s a Crowd flopped because the producers blew it. The Vicky character was dull. She and Jack were sweet together, but sweet doesn’t equal funny. They needed a lead couple that was playful, bantering, and sexy. The EZ character was an unfunny, one-dimensional dud. And while Robert Mandan was talented and competent, his character was overbearing.

The show was also underpopulated. Where was the rest of the restaurant staff? And where were Jack and Vicky’s friends?

On top of that, the scripts were generally weak and unfunny.

So there was a lot more wrong with the show than Mary Cadorette.

What restaurant staff??

Jack never even had restaurant staff during Three's Company yet nobody complained. Remember Jack was the owner AND the waiter as he usually brought the food out himself!

I never saw a single waiter or waitress at Jack's Bistro on TC! Felipe was the chef at least once. They should've brought him over to Three's a Crowd! He was HILARIOUS!

I think it was another chef that told jack that they was out of chicken but he is the only one I can remember outside of felipe and furley during TC

I caught just the latter half of Gail Edwards's 3AC episode this week on AntennaTV. She and Jack were alone in the apartment, and both suspected the other of trying to seduce each other. Why did her character wink whenever she said something?

If you're a boring and uncharismatic actress, then consequently, you aren't going to have much chemistry with your male co-star.
I don't see anything wrong with her panel work on Super Password. Anyway, persona on game show appearances seems an odd way to judge somebody's acting ability. If we're going to go by that, I've seen clips of John Ritter on 70s Pyramid and another game show from that decade, and he seemed visibly embarrassed to be doing those types of shows. I actually haven't seen enough of Three's a Crowd to judge Cadorette's acting ability, but there were reasons why she kept getting invited back on Pyramid, even after her show was canceled. She had a $100,000 tournament win that was memorable for her scream of joy when her partner uttered the final correct answer.

I remember Felipe saying, "you're going to have a kichen full of chicken".

He said that because customers were ONLY ordering eggs that day.

It was her contact lenses she had to change them every 2 hours

Mary Cadorette was good looking, just not very funny or had any chemistry with John Ritter. Gail Edwards would have been funnier, but I don’t know about the chemistry part. The major problems with the show were lame writing, a dumb premise with Jack being in a relationship and moving in with a woman he just met (unlike TAC where it was innocent, as much as Jack joked around), a poor and limited supporting cast especially the useless and annoying EZ, and the fact the Jack Tripper character became less funny. If you made it some sort of a buddy sitcom with Richard Kline and Don Knotts and different women each week, it may have been watchable.

Actually John Ritter said he had the best chemistry with Mary out of all the women who auditioned & that's why he picked her. Although I agree Mary wasn't that great. Gail wouldn't have made much difference.

They needed a better supporting cast like Felipe & bring Gurley back once in a while!
