[QUOTE=thejasoomian;5751356]What are you talking about ? Seinfeld was considered a flop at first because of demos. And as far as Three's A Crowd goes, we will never know because they jumped the gun on canceling it to early.

"Seinfeld was considered a flop at first because of demos".

That statement is not true.

Yes it is true. Seinfeld didn't even make it into the Top 30 Nielson ratings until season four. In the early days of Seinfeld it had low reactions.

After seeing Gail Edwards in "It's a Living" she isn't any better or worse than Mary was as Vicki.

It probably wouldn't have made a difference if Gail played Vicki because it boiled down to John Ritter, the supporting cast, & the writers. TAC was definitely good enough for another season so I'll never understand why John didn't take 13 more episodes when it was offered to him??

She had a nervous energy about her (kind of like the actress who played Vera on Alice)that I could see putting some people off (like Ritter).

It's A Living was an ensemble show, where I think that quality works better.

The truth is Jack's partner in TAC didn't really matter as long as she wasn't AWFUL. You could've potentially had DOZENS of actresses play the part because in the end the humor centered around Jack.

Critics loved “Seinfeld”.

Nothing against Mary but in the one guest starring episode that featured Gail Edwards she handled herself admirably in the comedy.

And about adding Stuart Pankin to the cast in season 2 would have been a perfect foil for Jack as the bickering between Jack and Mr. Bradford can only be played out for so long until Bradford finally accepts Jack and Vicki together.

Exactly, no man in real life would have constantly took crap from someone's father

At the end of the day, does the fault essentially lie on Mary Cadorette for why Three's a Crowd flopped? Aren't her appearances Super Password in 1985 enough evidence that she's not particularly charismatic? Compare her to somebody like Priscilla Barnes, who could at least pretend to be in on the joke for some episodes of Three's Company. If you're a boring and uncharismatic actress, then consequently, you aren't going to have much chemistry with your male co-star.

Mary Cadorette was dynamite on those game shows. Super intelligent and witty. She won a lot of money for contestants.
