The 93-year-old legendary TV producer, who tackled abortion on Maude in 1972, says of Thursday’s Scandal: “They gave us an adult moment,” adding that “it is a helluva show."

Norman Lear would like to do a Live in Front of a Studio Audience on Maude's abortion episode

"I'd like to do Maude," Lear says of the third Live in Front of a Studio Audience. "It would be fascinating to see. I'm thinking about the (1972) abortion episode — I don't like saying it that way — the Maude episode that dealt with that subject. Forty years later, it's a more sensitive subject that it was then. But I would take any episode. I loved the show so much."
