ABC got the rights to the Supermarket Sweep revival? I thought the Supermarket Sweep revival was gonna be in syndication. I wonder if David Ruprecht and Fremantle had connections to someone who worked for ABC and Fremantle thought ABC would be a great choice to air the Supermarket Sweep revival. I also wonder if Buzzr will quit airing Supermarket Sweep reruns due to this? I had never seen Leslie Jones's comedy shows but I have a feeling Leslie Jones will have a great game show career depending on how well she hosts Supermarket Sweep

Buzzr won't stop airing Supermarket Sweep. They continued to air Card Sharks when ABC's revival was going on, even going head-to-head.

There were no connections at all. Like Leslie Jones, ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke is simply a huge fan of the Supermarket Sweep franchise.

Leslie Jones probably watched a lot of Supermarket Sweep episodes as a kid like I did and so i'm glad me and Leslie Jones have something in common. I also who will be the announcer for the Supermarket Sweep revival? I hope it's someone cool to provide the fun commentary during the Big Sweep

That June premiere date might have originally been announced, but delayed now with so many shows having to delay production. ABC released the first part of their summer schedule, and Supermarket Sweep was not part of it.

ABC announced their fall 2020 schedule today. The Leslie Jones hosted version of Supermarket Sweep will air Sundays at 8PM eastern time when ABC's fall schedule premieres.

Hi, Bestie! I think they might have recorded some SMS before Corona. If they have not, they will probably have to wait for a while to record. Especially if they are doing the show in California. California will be the last state to open up. I hope they get the game started because I want to see how Leslie does as a host. She was very funny on SNL

Over the past few weeks, the 1990s version of Supermarket Sweep has become a sensation on Netflix. "It all can’t help but make one wonder, how can a show like this possibly function in a 2020 revival?" asks Jim Vorel. "We live now in an era of tailored, targeted advertisement, and paid advertisement disguised as genuine content. The way we consume advertisements and product placement, as a result, is entirely different from the utterly guileless manner in which it was thrown at the screen in a random episode of Supermarket Sweep in 1992. "Supermarket Sweep" is back in the shopping aisles.

Deadline understands that ABC’s reboot of the classic game show, starring Leslie Jones, is now back in production. It becomes the latest high-profile non-scripted entertainment series to resume shooting after the COVID-19 production shutdown.

Shooting started today in California with rigorous health and safety protocols put in place by producer Fremantle. The show is being shot with minimal crew and with no audience.

One positive note to emerge from the production resumption is that all of the edible produce and grocery items that you’ll see on screen – a show essentially filmed in a mock-up of a supermarket – will be donated to various charities including the LA Food Bank.

There’s currently no confirmed airdate for the show.
