To put it in another way, do you agree that a big problem or issue with Last Man Standing is the writing, Tim Allen's performance, and general atmosphere of the show in terms of themes? To go back to the Home Improvement comparison, did it feel like that HI seemed more sitcom with a writers' room that Tim had input? On the other hand, LMS seems more like a show where Tim tells the writers some jokes and a core theme and they try and intertwine those with regular dialogue and give it a plot enough for a half hour sitcom.

HI had a pretty consistent cast with only Randy leaving in the last season. LMS has recast three of its characters and another kid is rarely seen.

I like LMS too. It's the best sitcom on TV today. But that's not saying much because sitcoms these days are pretty AWFUL.
The heyday for sitcoms was the 1980s & you can make the case the heyday should include 60s & 70s sitcoms as well. That's why classic sitcoms are so popular because you will NEVER see shows like that again due to EXTREME political correctness by CRAZY liberals!! Same goes for dramas & action shows. |
