Question Rhoda's leaving of The MTM Show

There is an odd episode at the end of the third season where she decides to move to NYC and then backs out at the last minute.

Was this an aborted exit for her and they decided to have her stay another season? Also, in the episode prior to this one Rhoda isn't even on it at all. Was she making a pilot?

You must talking about a tag scene on the DVD because I just watched this episode on youtube and there wasn't any scene with rhoda backing out moving back to NYC

There is an episode in the third season where this happens. I recently saw it. It's titled "Rhoda Morgenstern: Minneapolis to New York" and aired in December of 1972, and Rhoda is all set to move to NYC and for the whole episode Mary doesn't believe she's really leaving and they even have a farewell party for her but by the end of the episode she decides to stay.

I found it odd too because I really thought this was the episode where she moves on to "Rhoda"---but she stays on MTM for the rest of the third season after deciding to stay.

The entire thing was weird but still a good episode!

Rhoda did not move to New York for Rhoda, until after the 4th season of MTM concluded. There was talk of Rhoda getting her own show for several years before it happened in 1974.

Ok then i'm very happy! I just began season 4 and see Rhoda is still there and was wondering if she leaves sometime during this season. (I'm watching the series for the first time and going in blind...with no advance info like i'm a viewer in the 1970's )

I don't even Google things i'm curious about because I don't want to get spoiled by stuff. But this isn't a spoiler that "spoils" me because I love Rhoda and she fits so well on MTM that i'm dreading her departure....so i'm thrilled to know she's there for the full 4th season!!

But i'm going to miss her when she's gone because I don't want to see Mary alone and Rhoda-less for the next 3 seasons. Those two have such a nice friendship that I never want her to go.

Ok, I see that's the 22nd episode of the 4th season. It's good enough for me. Then i'll have to buy the Rhoda dvd's.

I'll only be able to get the first 3 seasons because for some reason they didn't put Closed Captions on the 4th and 5th seasons. I sent an e mail to the company asking them why they did it for 3 seasons but not the last 2 because it makes no sense.

I heard the last couple of seasons aren't that great anyway so i'll be satisfied with getting the first 3.

Do you know if it's airing on any TV channels? I know MTM is playing on Decades so hopefully Rhoda makes it on there someday too.
