Why did Barrie Youngfellow retire from acting?

If you look at her IMDb profile, her career as an active actress just about stops shortly after It's a Living ended production in 1989. She only has three more credits after that. The first one was a guest starring spot on Murder She Wrote, that same year.

A lot of people may not know this, but Barrie Youngfellow was in the original pilot for Blossom (as Blossom's' mother), which came from the same production team as It's a Living. Incidentally, Gail Edwards would show up on the series proper as Six's mother. That pilot was Barrie's last acting job for eight years before she made her final acting credit on an episode of Law & Ordder.
