Question Why hasn't there been more Jetsons projects since 1990

The Jetsons movie as I said was released in 1990. It came off the heels of the '80s revival. Of course, it also had to deal with the deaths of George O'Hanlon and Mel Blanc in the middle of production and the disgraceful way that the producers treated Janet Waldo (replacing her with Tiffany Darwish as the voice of Judy Jetson). And the movie itself wound up bombing at the box office.

There wouldn't be another official Jetsons project until 2017 (a good 27 years later) in the form of The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-Wrestlemania. I'm kind of surprised that Hanna-Barbara didn't at least try to keep the franchise going in the inter-medium. I mean, come the turn of the millennium, there was a lot of fascination in regards to the "future".

The Jetsons was never as popular as The Flintstones.

Next to The Flintstones The Jetsons was the second most popular cartoon series of the Hanna-Barbera line but it always was The Flintstones that recieved the most attention. But the main reason why there hasn't been any more The Jetsons projects since 1990 is because most of the original voice actors/actresses that were on The Jetsons are no longer alive and aside from The Jetsons WWE movie I think it's time for The Jetsons to make a comeback and besides their return in the 80's I think Cartoon Network should think very seriously about a new cartoon of The Jetsons but this time done with computer animation and a new storyline and I think it would work for a new generation of The Jetsons fans. Or just like they did with The Flintstones in 1994 a live-action movie of The Jetsons would work with some good actors and actresses playing The Jetsons the movie could work. But even in Hanna-Barbera merchandising The Flintstones are usually number one and merchandise featuring The Jetsons is rare to find. But I do hope The Jetsons regains popularity and based on how successful The Flintstones will become on METV maybe METV will also think about adding The Jetsons in the future

The only reason I'm surprised there hasn't been more is that they've dragged out every piece of crap that was ever made to revive. I think the reason for no Jetsons may be that a lot of the gadgets that they came up with either exist now or obviously never will. There's no nostalgia about the future and the future is here.
