David E. Kelley recalls his historic Emmy wins 20 years ago

Kelley says he's still stunned by he 1999 Emmys, especially since Season 3 of The Practice triumphed over the groundbreaking first season of The Sopranos. "I think I was stunned first that we’d gone up there. While we were just getting offstage and trying to process, somebody was telling me, 'You gotta go back out,'" Kelley recalls. “The first thing that hit me was that I was supposed to go back out and rightfully return the Emmy to The Sopranos." |
