I got lucky and found seasons 1 & 2 yesterday at the Salvation Army thrift store for only 7.50 each. They're used but have been well cared for. These average $25-$30 each used on eBay so I think I got a good deal.

That is a great find. I already owned seasons 1 and 2, but I just picked up season 3 on ebay for $17.50.

Boston Legal is virtually missing from all streaming services, AND is not available on blu-ray. Maybe part of the issue stems from the show not being all that fast paced and regularly devoting large parts of episodes to complicated social and moral issues. Plus there was a ton of meta humor and fourth wall breaking, and that stuff really only appeals to a small portion of viewers.

All in all, Boston Legal was a special case. It wasn't too popular and its numbers were pretty low. But it also just so happened that it was massively successful with the very-rich and ultra-rich older demographic, a very hard one to please. Advertising to them successfully was what kept the show going in spite of low numbers. But those low numbers aren't enough of an incentive to migrate it to new media.

This is finally on Amazon Prime streaming!! I've loved being able to rewatch this again.
