I think Hsyden being named Coach of the Orlando Breakers is somehow linked to ABC's merger with Disney in 1995. Given the fact both happened in 1995 and the fact that Disney World happens to be in Orlando.

Obviously Katherine Helmond's character is based on NFL owner Georgia Frontiere, who moved the Rams to St. Louis for the 1995 season. Frontiere was a very prominent woman in a league dominated by male owners. The publicity behind that move no doubt had a big impact on Coach's producers and writers.

I've liked Katherine Helmond's characters since Soap and Who's The Boss, both of which are still running on Antenna TV and/or Me TV. She always seems to be playing basically the same character, Katherine Helmond.

It was a cool surprise to see Luther get the girl for a change, also.

The Orlando Breakers are also presumably, meant to be a stand-in for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who joined the NFL as an expansion franchise around the same time that retool on Coach happened. Back in 2009, there were even discussions about the Jaguars playing some of their games in Orlando. And like the Breakers, the Jaguars managed to make it to the playoffs in only their second year, and played against the Buffalo Bills in the early, "Wild Card" round.
