Are the Punky Brewster sitcom and the cartoon series canon to each other? One theory is that the cartoon show is a dream that sitcom Punky had one day. Another one is that it is from Punky's stories that she writes. Perhaps at the end of the day, you can just as easily just think of it as another world and another set of circumstances, no less real than the other.
