Richert took to Twitter on Tuesday to speak out in support of Geoffrey, 57, who was pictured last week working as a cashier at a Trader Joe's in New Jersey
The musician and actor played Harvey Kinkle, Sabrina's love interest, between 1996 and 2003 on Sabrina The Teenage Witch
He explained that he now works 'whatever random jobs' he can get in order to pay his bills, and pointed out that there is no shame in having a side gig
'Actors so very rarely have job security or consistent work, quality healthcare, a reasonable retirement,' he wrote
Owens has said that 'every job is worthwhile and valuable' and that 'no one should feel sorry for [him]'
