Those kids are a lot younger than the comic strip kids.

I'd like to see an episode or two of the approx. 1970 Danny Thomas sitcom, Make Room For Granddaddy. I've read it was pretty bad, but I'd like to see for myself. Not much on Youtube, IIRC.

I had no idea Paul was so revered.
I agree that some of the interest here for The Paul Lynde Show is because it basically hadn't been seen since it's original run, at least that's how long it's been since I've last seen it. I also agree that it isn't the greatest show but it has it's fun moments. Worth watching for a fun retro trip back to the early 1970's.

There are about 20 of those on YouTube. Have you seen them lately? How do they hold up?

One thing interesting to me is that it was probably the only multi cam Screen Gems sitcom. For that format the sets were quite good, even including a real pool. There weren't too many multi cam sitcoms shot on film during that time...Odd Couple, the MTM sitcoms, Garry Marshall's sitcoms in the mid 70s. Many others shot on videotape (not sure why...needed to save money??)

How about the 1957 version of "Blondie"? It has 26 episodes.

1957 Blondie complete series was released not too long ago on DVD by the ClassicFlix studio. As far as I know, the episodes of the 1968 series are currently considered lost.

I just watched the episode "Operation Fastball". It was fun but my initial thought was that it's weird to do a sitcom in a hospital setting. And some parts of the episode would probably be considered politically incorrect today. I still think this series would be a good fit for Antenna TV but I don't know if they would be interested or able to acquire the episodes. Maybe I will send Antenna TV a message on their website to ask about this series and see if I get a reply.

Being honest, I don’t remember this show. But there were shows like MASH, Scrubs, probably some I’m missing, so the hospital setting couldn’t be that weird.

Heck, if you go watch the original One Day At A Time pilot I posted,

Ann was a nurse, so some of it would have been set in a hospital.

I suppose anything or anyplace can be used as a source for humor, but hospitals and the military are generally considered as serious subjects. I guess that's a reason why I've never really gotten into military sitcoms, the only one I can say I like is Gomer Pyle USMC.
