Seriously? Did nobody catch that, even when the article was edited multiple times!?
Haha, really!

What a kooky notion---for Pete's sake, most of Mr. Bradley's scenes in season 1 were him traipsing into the dorm! He was in the dorm, the gym, the cafeteria, the housemother's bedchamber, his office, the freaking stables---the headmaster's not chained to the classroom! lol

Exactly!

In fact, he's only shown in the classroom about the same amount of time that everyone else is.

Finished the article!

"Seven girls created traffic problems", explains Ms. Rae.

Then it's up to the director to smooth things out. It's not that big a cast.

"The audience got confused"

I didn't get confused, and I was a child! (first exposed to it in syndication) It was VERY clear to me who was the tomboy, who was the country girl, who was the feminist, who was the leader, who was the class clown, who was the Roger-holic, and who was the skating baby (i.e., youngest, the baby of the bunch, lol). I'm sorry, but any audience who got "confused" wasn't investing much in watching this show.

"The three holdovers were the most popular in the testing of audience reaction."

Well, not this audience's reaction! [pointing to self] If they had polled me, the three holdovers would have been Cindy, Tootie, and Molly! (my favorites in childhood upon first viewing the show)

How funny they cased L.A. and NY for a role that never developed! (or, at least, never made it to the final scripts)

I had to Google "giberal" and "John Anderson president".

Thank you! And to be honest, the cast wasn't that much bigger in the beginning than it was at the end.

It's funny. I think I'd categorize those three as the spunkiest.

Isn't it how they found Geri Jewel? I know it was supposed to be a male cook, but I have heard the producers discovered Geri doing stand-up in a comedy club, which fits what they were saying about searching NY and LA clubs for comedians.

Haha, that's true! "Well said, Metal Head!" Maybe on a subconscious level I liked that about them, lol.

Oo, I've never seen this one!

How ironic that I am the "Facts" fan to find this photo*, yet it has all of the girls but my 2 season 1 favorites!

*(not claiming to be the only one to ever find it, just for purposes of this thread, as far as I know lol)

Ah, yes. The ole staircase photo, with the five girls who seemed closest to each other. Mollys and Julie Annes need not apply.

How dare you try to outcast my 2 favorite girls!

[puts up dukes]

Anyway, yes, I respectfully disagree. After all, Sue Ann and Cindy were besties. Nancy was more the oustider. And Tootie and Molly were hamster buddies, lol (at least, Molly seemed to connect to her over a dead pet anyway, lol).

No, I meant in real life. No one in any of the interviews says, "I was incredibly close to Molly" or "Julie Anne and I were like sisters."

I can empathize, Lorsy...

(by the way, that's "Lorsy" like "LOHR-zee", not with the "s" sound like "horsey" )

I know it was bad for all of them, but Julie must have been the most devastated.

Still, she's always been very matter-of-fact about it. "It can be taken away from you, like that" *snaps* "One day you're on a TV show, and one day you're not."
