Rules of Engagement will conclude its miraculous seven-year, 100-episode run on Monday, May 20.

Was this show really on for 7 years? They must not have made many episodes per year, if it only ended up with 100.

I think it only had about 2 or 3 full seasons. The rest of the time it was a replacement series.

I'm looking at the episode list and it only had 1 full season. I think it helped the series more than hurt it because it probably would have been canceled much sooner if it was a regular series.

Not a surprise, but I'm glad the show lasted for 100 episodes. I've been watching it in syndication and have to say it is hilarious...

I watched some episodes in syndication and it isn't too bad. I can only take David Spade in small doses though.

They should keep it around for another season because some of their new fall comedies will fail & it would make a good replacement. I've always liked Rules of Engagement and hate to see it go.

Many on the cast were getting tired of doing the show, and it was only a mediocre hit on CBS (which would have been the number 1 show on NBC!).

While never a critical favorite, the ensemble half-hour sitcom starring Patrick Warburton, David Spade and Megyn Price nonetheless gave CBS a workhorse — a show that could be used to fill holes in the schedule when weaker titles couldn’t earn high enough numbers.

Rules started and ended its run as a midseason replacement for the network and survived several rounds of cuts when odds-makers bet against the show returning. Not since Fox’s Til Death has a sitcom on-the-bubble pulled off so many narrow escapes. Rules still had semi-decent ratings this season — averaging a 2.6 among adults 18-49. But as a show ages, its costs tend to rise, which in turn adds more performance pressure.

I thought it was very funny. But 7 seasons was probably plenty.
