Question Monroe Ficus Was Raped on 'Too Close For Comfort?'

Did this happen? I vaguely remember it.

yep, two big girls threw him in the back of their van and had their way with him.

later in the episode Henry goes with Munroe back to their house to confront them and they end up running away as Munroe shouts "that's the little one!"

Was this portrayed comically?? Geez, what a weird idea for an episode.

it was a pretty funny episode, but definitely weird

proof: http://wasmonroeraped.com/
http://www.retroist.com/2009/05/18/p...-rape-episode/

Season 5, Episode 10 (#96) – Aired: 7/20/1985 "For Every Man, There's Two Women"

from imdb.com: "Monroe is kidnapped and raped by two women in a van. When the police dismiss Monroe's story, Henry searches for the rapists himself."

I vaguely remember the episode when it first aired... I DEFINITELY remember seeing it when it was scheduled to air about a month ago and I was looking for TCFC episodes to record on the DVR. I thought to myself "Monroe got RAPED?? And this is a COMEDY? I don't want to see something like THAT!" and I decided to skip recording it and went for a rerun of "Living Single" lol

I come home from work tired, I want to unplug my brain for a little while and have an easy laugh lol. Making light of rape is way uncool. And I didn't like the way TCFC squeezed in too many laughs for such dark subject matter. Not unlike that "very special episode" of Different Strokes, where a bicycle shop owner was really a pedo who tried to have his way with Arnold's little ginger friend (I forget his name, sorry. I want to say "Sam" for some reason)...too many wisecracks for such an incident trivializes it.

Although I have to admit, Ted Knight's physical gag with the murphy bed in that episode just had me ROFL

He's too erratically annoying, IMO!

You're mixing two Diff'rent Strokes episodes. Sam was kidnapped by a father trying to replace his dead son. Arnold and Dudley were preyed upon by the pedophile.
