Today is Naomi Scott’s 25th birthday. The Anglo-Indian actress grew up in London, and made her acting debut on the Disney Channel UK series Life Bites in 2009. She then appeared in a supporting role in the Disney Channel movie musical Lemonade Mouth, and was a regular on Fox’s short-lived sci-fi drama Terra Nova. After appearing in a few short films, she made her feature film debut in 2015 in The 33. She was also cast in that year’s The Martian, apparently as a JPL employee, but her scenes were not included in the final cut of the film. Last year, Scott starred as Kimberly Hart in Power Rangers.



Scott’s involvement in Lemonade Mouth gave rise to a modest recording career. She has released a pair of digital EPs and a few singles. Next year, Scott will have her chance for a film breakthrough when she stars as Jasmine in the live-action adaptation of Aladdin.
