Revelations from a screening of A&E's Freaks and Geeks: The Documentary include tidbits like how hard it was to write for James Franco and how easy it was to get much-derided NBC executive Garth Ancier to talk for the film. In the documentary, Freaks and Geeks creator Feig also discusses his hope to see a musical based on his beloved series. "I’ve been saying for 15 years I so wanna do the Freaks and Geeks musical," he says. "I just have to write the book for it, but I think it will happen one day because it’s just sitting there, waiting to be done. A musical number of a dodgeball game, come on!"
