The shows are uncut on the DVD's. There are some music videos during the first season by Strawberry Alarm Clock, The First Edition (with Kenny Rogers), The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and The Bee Gees, so Time Life and Proven Entertainment were able to clear the music rights there. Three Dog Night also perform during the fifth season. Marshall |

Getting all the music is major. They got most, but not all, of it for Wonder Years.

I'm buying the Laugh-In seasons one at a time, I have seasons 1 and 2, and plan to buy season 3 in March after it's released. Watching these shows now, what I like best is the nostalgia factor, and also enjoy seeing the appearances of different guest stars, it's fun revisiting the groovy era of the late 1960's/early 1970's. The Laugh-In shows go along at a frantic pace, the jokes and skits fly by quickly, most are silly but some are funny. The cast of the show also does occasional song and dance routines, I usually enjoy those. Watching Laugh-In is a fun trip back to a groovy time. Sock it to me!

Judy Carne is my favorite of the Laugh-In regulars. She's so adorable and cute
, I like her better than Goldie Hawn. Jo Anne Worley isn't bad looking either. I hadn't paid much attention to her before, but now I think she's attractive in her own womanly way . The first three seasons of Laugh-In are the best ones. In season 4 it started slipping a little, several cast changes were partly the reason. Seasons 5 and 6 the show was still hanging on but no longer resembled what it was when it first started. |

Yay, today in the mail I received the season 3 DVD of Laugh-In, I'll watch some episodes later.
You bet your sweet bippy! Sock it to me! Although if I recall, the sock it to me bit was mostly played out by the 3rd season and they were moving on to other gags. |

Watching some season 3 episodes on the DVD's, and I notice that Judy Carne is surely missed. Of the 26 episodes this season, she appears in only 17 of them, and is absent completely in the other 9. And with the episodes she's in, she's barely there and not given much to do. I don't know the whole story about her departure from the show, from what I understand she left after the 2nd season, but she must have agreed to do some 3rd season bits because she is there, even though it's infrequent. It's too bad that being on Laugh-In didn't work out for Judy Carne, she's my favorite of the early season regular cast members. After the 3rd season, more cast changes were coming as Goldie Hawn and Jo Anne Worley would leave the series too
.

The frame rate on all of these is SERIOUSLY messed up. Can't believe they made it out like this. The older Rhino DVDs are at the correct frame rate.

The shows look fine to me, I don't notice any obvious problems with the video. I'm not fussy about technical stuff like the frame rate unless there is an obvious problem, and I don't see any obvious problems here.
What interests me most is to have the uncut shows. Time Life seems to have come through and the shows are presented uncut, at least I'm not aware of any edits. |

I plan to get season 4 next month when it comes out, after that I might stop because I'm not sure if I want seasons 5 and 6. The show was running out of gas the last two seasons, by season 6 it was running on fumes. Season 5 does have the reunion show where the original cast members return, but that's only 1 episode out of 24.

Well I decided I might as well have the whole series so I went ahead and bought season 5 and plan to order season 6 in September when it comes out.
Having said that, the first three seasons are better than the last three seasons, with season 2 being the peak of the show when it was at it's best. In season 3, the wheels already started falling off the cart a little bit. I watch these Laugh In DVD's mostly for the nostalgia value, it's fun revisiting the era and the show and watch a group of people get together for 50 minutes and act silly. And that's the thing about Laugh In, most of it is silly, I laugh at a few things but the fun aspect is mainly why I watch these. The song and dance numbers that the cast sometimes performs are usually enjoyable too. |

Well I now have all 6 seasons of Laugh In on DVD, I received season 6 in the mail about a week ago. I've watched some season 6 shows and I was pleasantly surprised, from what I've seen so far season 6 seems to be better than seasons 4 and 5. I still think the first three seasons are the best, but in season 6 the series has a new found energy that was lacking in seasons 4 and 5, and also in the 6th season the show definitely takes on a 70's vibe since this season is from 1972-73. So I would say that Laugh In went out on a good note with season 6, an improved season compared to seasons 4 and 5.
