Default Wesley and Heather's very special episodes

Anyone one find it strange that in Heather's very special episode in season 6 "Homecoming", George is actually shown laying into her attempted rapist, Keith Elliot, yet in Wesley's season 4 very special episode "The Counselor", any confrontation he has with Wesley's counselor, Perry, is kept strictly off camera?

I never thought about it before, but yeah, that was kind of strange. In "The Counselor" it shows George slowly walking towards Mr. Perry with an angry look on his face, but then it cuts to the next scene.

Same here, I never thought about it before, either.

Maybe they felt that was a more powerful way to handle pedophilia, instead of showing a parental confrontation. Just seeing the father walk toward the perpetrator, and then leave the rest up to your imagination.

Well, I don't know. To me, it comes as sort an unintended form of sexism, by showing that girls can have their attackers be confronted, but boys cannot.

We also have to remember the Wesley episode came first, before the Heather one. And Wesley's had a PSA at the end with Christopher and Brice, whereas Heather's did not.

Yeah, you're right, I never really thought about that. In addition, in the former episode, the police get involved, whereas in the latter episode, they do not.

Remember the 'Mr. Belvedere' when Wesley's friend got AIDS? It was a very special episode.
I'm assuming that the producers/writers of Mr. Belvedere were inspired by Ryan White's ordeal.

Actually, they were inspired by Sam Kushnick, son of legendary Hollywood manager Helen Kushnick, who managed, among others, developers and executive producers Frank Dungan and Jeff Stein.
