That wouldn't be a bad idea for him, king of comedy. I'd love to see Lawrence take a stab at drama. All he needs is a good script.

Happy Easter!

Excellent observation, Jack Gomez. I found it rather interesting that you mentioned Chris Tucker in your comment...Tucker took a six-year sabbatical (2001 to 2007) from the silver screen between "Rush Hour 2" and "Rush Hour 3." And then, following "Rush Hour 3," he disappeared for another five years (2007 to 2012) until "Silver Linings Playbook." There are various reasons floating around explaining Tucker's hiatus from Hollywood (hence his sporadic film career)...one rumor claimed that, following his crossover success in 1998's "Rush Hour," he began negotiating for a larger salary (his salary on "Rush Hour" was only three million dollars) for the two sequels that followed, which he ultimately received ($20 million for "Rush Hour 2," and a whopping $25 million--plus 20% of the gross--for "Rush Hour 3"). As a result, Tucker became the highest paid actor in the industry at that time (early- to mid-2000s)...go figure.

In recent years, however, it appears that Tucker's been saddled with money troubles as of late, as well as being burdened with tax issues. Perhaps this wonderful article on Complex (the link to the Complex article is http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2...t-chris-tucker) will shed some more light on Tucker's plight, as well as his erratic career.

Enjoy your day, Jack Gomez!

He did indeed co-star in "Do The Right Thing," isiahthomas...he played Cee, one of the local residents. And "Do The Right Thing" is not only a good movie, it's also an American classic.

Martin Lawrence I think, can be funny but only in a limited context. He was able to get away with it on Martin because of the strong chemistry of his supporting cast. And in Bad Boys, he had an extremely charismatic Will Smith to play off of.

But when you get right down to it, he really doesn't have a lot of range in his routine. It's not enough to simply swear a lot (bare in mind, that I don't at all mind swearing as long as it's done in the right manner) and talk about the female genitalia. It seems like Martin has little to offer (i.e. any true sense of wit and insight) beyond being as vulgar as he could possibly be while not playing a brash, mugging loudmouth.
