Default 1 of Danny Masterson’s rape accusers comes forward to denounce Netflix for moving...

with The Ranch

https://www.thedailybeast.com/danny-...x-we-do-matter

Chrissie Carnell Bixler says in a statement to The Daily Beast: “I was sick when I read Netflix’s statement on continuing with The Ranch and continuing their working relationship with a man who has violently raped and abused so many women. Four months after the story broke, and the LAPD confirmed a criminal investigation, Netflix ordered another season of The Ranch.” The Daily Beast adds "Danny Masterson did not respond to multiple requests for comment" and Netflix didn't have anything new to say in reaction to Bixler's statement.

Netflix Exec Tells Danny Masterson Accuser the Company Doesn't Believe the Rape Allegations
by Amanda Bell
Dec 4, 2017

After Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual misconduct, Netflix quickly halted production on "House of Cards'" sixth season, fired him from the series and the political drama went on hiatus until producers could figure out a way to proceed without Spacey as Frank Underwood.

All the while, though, the streaming network has been silent about the multiple allegations of rape waged against Danny Masterson, who stars on the Netflix comedy "The Ranch".

On Sunday, one of Masterson's four accusers approached a Netflix executive, Andy Yeatman, at a child's soccer tournament and confronted him about why Netflix hasn't taken any action against Masterson, according to The Huffington Post.

Unaware that he was speaking to one of Masterson's alleged victims, Yeatman told the woman that the service does take such allegations seriously, but that "we don't believe them," referring to the four accusers.

It was then that the woman revealed to Yeatman that she was one of Masterson's accusers. Yeatman later admitted to her that he had no control over the network's response to such allegations, but the victim reportedly insisted that they were true and that the service would regret disbelieving the accusers.

Netflix confirmed Yeatman's remarks in a statement, but clarified that the exec wasn't speaking for the company.

"While he was coaching a youth soccer match today, Mr. Yeatman ― a Netflix kids' programming executive ― was approached by a stranger who did not identify herself or explain her connection to Danny Masterson," the Netflix statement reads.

"Mr. Yeatman's comments were careless, uninformed and do not represent the views of the company. Further, he would have no insights into decision making on The Ranch. We are aware of the allegations against Danny Masterson and we are following the current investigation, and will respond if developments occur."

The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the allegations that Masterson violently raped four women in the early 2000s. The investigation has been on-going for almost a year and Masterson has denied all the accusations against him.

In October, Netflix announced Masterson's comedy "The Ranch" would premiere new episodes on Dec. 15, spurring several petitions to have him removed or the show axed altogether.

Danny Masterson Fired from Netflix's "The Ranch" Amid Rape Allegations
by Lesley Goldberg
Dec. 5, 2017

Danny Masterson is done at Netflix. The actor, who is facing multiple allegations of rape, has been fired from the streaming giant's scripted comedy "The Ranch".

"As a result of ongoing discussions, Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of The Ranch. Monday was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him," Netflix said in a statement.

Masterson will still appear in the second half of season two, due Dec. 15, and could return for parts of the previously announced third season as the streaming giant writes him out of the Ashton Kutcher comedy. It's unclear if another actor will be brought in to make up for the void.

On Monday, Netflix came under fire again when one of Masterson's alleged victims recounted a story to the Huffington Post that a Netflix executive told her he did not believe four women who have made claims against the actor. The executive, director of global kids content Andy Yeatman, did not know he was speaking to one of Masterson's alleged victims until she identified herself as such.

As of Monday, a petition calling for Netflix to cancel "The Ranch" had earned support from more than 38,000 people.

Masterson denied the allegations on Tuesday morning and said he was "disappointed" in Netflix's decision.

I am obviously very disappointed in Netflix’s decision to write my character off of The Ranch. From day one, I have denied the outrageous allegations against me," he said in a statement. "Law enforcement investigated these claims more than 15 years ago and determined them to be without merit. I have never been charged with a crime, let alone convicted of one."

The statement continued, "In this country, you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, in the current climate, it seems as if you are presumed guilty the moment you are accused. I understand and look forward to clearing my name once and for all. In the meantime, I want to express my gratitude to the cast and crew that I’ve worked so closely with over the past three seasons. I wish them nothing but success. I am also so thankful to the fans that have supported me and continue to do so."

I Don't know who's telling the truth with all these accusations but I do know that Hollywood is a hot mess right now.

It's a shame if these accusations are true.

Netflix Fires Executive for “Careless” Remarks on Danny Masterson Allegations
by Bruce Haring
December 12, 2017

A Netflix executive who told an alleged Danny Masterson sexual assault victim that the company did not believe rape accounts about the actor has been fired.

Andy Yeatman, director of global kids content at Netflix, was terminated by the company on Dec. 11 over the comments, which were reportedly made in early December at a children’s soccer game. A Netflix spokesperson confirmed the firing for Deadline: “Mr. Yeatman is no longer employed at Netflix.

The Ranch is back, but how will Danny Masterson’s firing over rape allegations affect the Netflix comedy?
The second half of Season 2 of the comedy starring Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott returned today under the cloud of Masterson’s rape allegations and firing. ALSO: No, that’s not Alicia Silverstone on The Ranch.

Has The Ranch found an "easy" way to get rid of Danny Masterson’s character?
The Season 3 finale might provide clues on what will happen to Masterson’s character now that the actor has been fired from the Netflix comedy.

Danny Masterson's ex-Girlfriend Bobette Riales Accuses Actor of Rape
by Dave Quinn
Dec. 21, 2017

A fifth woman has come forward and accused actor Danny Masterson of rape. Actress Bobette Riales, who dated the "That ’70s Show" alum in the early 2000s, alleged on Twitter Wednesday that Masterson “repeatedly” sexually assaulted her.

I stayed quiet long enough. Danny Masterson repeatedly raped me,” wrote Riales. “All I seek is justice and to prevent this from ever happening to anyone else as it has for some time. My truth will be heard.

A rep for Masterson, 41, did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment. The star has previously denied all allegations brought against him.

Danny Masterson dropped by his talent agency one month after Netflix fired him
UTA no longer represents Masterson, whom multiple women have accused of rape, which led to his ouster from the Netflix's The Ranch on Dec. 5.
