I think the actor who played Bubba on Sanford and Sons was one of the policemen on a semi-regular basis. So was Bruce Kirby.

Years late reply for sure but I believe you (caladon) were correct in stating the actor was Alan Manson, and IMDB Eps guide. and actor profile have been updated to show credit. Apparently he did do 3 "Car 54" eps. "Stop Thief", "Here We Go Again" and "The Curse of the Snitkins"

And Arlene looked not too different than she did when she made her first Mayberry appearances -- if I remember correctly, with a bit longer and somewhat curly hairstyle. You will recognize her, especially her voice. Her role in the ep was pretty substantial.

David Doyle appeared a few times, including at least once uncredited as an ad agency exec who was trying to get Sylvia Schnauzer to appear as the "Dixie Dimple" cookie lady.
