There are some "I Love Lucy" pictures that I'd like fully colorized. I have reference photos for the original colors of the furniture, set pieces, props, wardrobe, etc. If anybody would be able to do this, I'd appreciate it.

Mase, I wanted to say thanks for all your amazing colorized stills you have included in this thread! I went through the entire thread and saved most of yours (but not the "distorted" pictures-no no no no no!) to my hard drive and a back-up USB drive.

The pictures are indeed "a-mase-ing". Even though the images are very familiar to most Americans (over a certain age, that is), the colorized ones were like seeing the images for the first time!

The only sad thing about seeing the pictures is realizing how incredible it would be to see the episodes colorized like the stills have been and knowing it will likely never happen! It would be like seeing the episodes for the first time; familiar and yet brand new at the same time.

(Color TV was introduced in 1954 and was extremely expensive at the time, about $4000-$5000 equivalent in today's money for a color TV, and this only a 15 inch round screen! To top it off, there were only 3 or 4 hours a week of color broadcasting ("colorcasting") and even this only in big markets like New York City. Most of what little color broadcasts there were, were on NBC since it was their color "system" that won out over CBS' earlier, funky, electro-mechanical color TV system. CBS was a bit miffed and so were slow to adopt color.)

Admittedly, it would be way too expensive to colorize the entire run of ILL, but it's too bad some of the most popular episodes weren't colorized. Mase's still show how good they could have been and I am sure people would be fascinated just to see them, for the first time in color.

How do you do that? color the shots. It look so different from the black and white shots.

Those are so good! Some of those images are really good quality, too. I especially like the one where they're all in Fred and Ethel's apartment, it looks so natural!
