"24" Spin-off in Development at Fox
"24" Spin-off at Fox Would Revolve Around a New Male Character
by Michael Ausiello June 1, 2015 Jack Bauer is passing the stopwatch. Fox is developing a "24" spin-off that would revolve around a new twenty-something male terrorist hunter, but the intention would be for Kiefer Sutherland‘s Jack to weave in and out as a guest star, franchise overlord Howard Gordon confirmed to TVLine Sunday at the Critics Choice Television Awards. The project would find the new male antihero working alongside an older, more seasoned female agent (not Yvonne Strahovski’s Kate Morgan, although she also may appear). It would also launch as a limited series, similar to last year’s acclaimed "24: Live Another Day", but I’m told the offshoot could easily become a long-term property for Fox. Last month, Gordon told Yahoo TV that the spin-off would maintain the “real-time concept” and that the story “is in the tradition of 24.” "24: Live Another Day" vets Manny Coto and Evan Katz will serve as writers and EPs. http://tvline.com/2015/06/01/24-spin...er-sutherland/ |

"24" Reboot will "Totally Reset" with New Characters, No Jack Bauer
by Marc Snetiker 8/6/15 A reboot of "24" is still in development, according to Fox chairman and CEO Gary Newman, who offered an update to reporters during the network’s summer press tour. Manny Coto and Evan Katz are writing the script, with longtime "24" producer Howard Gordon supervising. Though the network hasn’t seen the script yet, Newman said it will center on a new character in the absence of of Jack Bauer. Not that they didn’t try. “Obviously we would love to have Kiefer Sutherland and we went to him first,” said Newman. “It isn’t something he wants to do at this point, but he encouraged us to continue and look for a way to bring the show back.” The familiar clock will be chiming once again in the new series, but as for familiar characters, Newman admitted, “Honestly I don’t know whether we’ll see any old characters or not. It would not surprise me if it’s a total reset in terms of the characters.” http://www.ew.com/article/2015/08/06/24-reboot-details |

Fox Orders Pilot for Jack Bauer-Less "24"
by Adam Bryant Jan 15, 2016 Hit the road, Jack (Bauer). Fox has ordered a pilot for a new series that will not focus on Keifer Sutherland's Jack Bauer, Fox announced Friday at the TCA winter previews. The potential new series, tentatively titled "24: Legacy", will tell the story of a military hero who returns to the U.S. with a whole lot of trouble following him. With nowhere else to turn, he turns to CTU for help in saving his life while also stopping a massive terrorist attack on U.S. soil. The series will be produced by original "24" producers Howard Gordon, Manny Coto and Evan Katz. Fox says, "The new series will retain the real-time, pulse-pounding, fast-paced format with split screens and complex interweaving storylines. Each episode will represent 1-hour of the eventful day." The pilot is expected to start shooting this winter. Casting info. was not announced. http://www.tvguide.com/news/fox-orde...-break-sequel/ |

Even though CIA agent Kate Morgan seemed like Jack Bauer’s heir apparent on 24: Live Another Day, Fox wants to “start from scratch” with 24: Legacy. |
