Default The last five minutes

so who else was sad? I got a little teary-eyed at the end when we saw what happened to everyone down the road.

it was kinda sweet to see that fate eventually brought Claire and Ted together twenty years in the future. I was particularly sad to see Keith's demise because the rest died of age and heart attacks and the sort and he dies a violent death.

God I was such a wreck at the end of the show, but it was nice to see that everyone besides Keith died of mostly natural causes and all got to live long lives, especially Claire who made it to 102.

It was sad to see Keith killed, but it was great to see that David dies thinking about him.

Alan Ball gave SFU the well written ending that it deserved. I think he did it this way, because he probably has seen other shows end, and knows that people continue to think about certain characters and how they may have continued. I think he did it this way for the fans of the show. Sort of like tying up the loose ends. Sad but sweet!

I also loved how Nate gave Brenda peace of mind and that her baby would be okay. I also love how Billy was still rambling on and on about nothing and Brenda dies listening to him.

Overall a great ending to a great show.

I heard that Alan Ball went on record saying that he ended it like he did because when most shows end, the fans always have the urge to want a reunion down the road to know what happened to these characters, so with SFU he pretty much brought a summation of the major events (marriage, etc...) along with their deaths.

It's sad to know Ruth goes first considering she is just beginning to lead a happy existance after so many years of being a doormat, but yet she's gonna be the first to go.

I shielded my eyes from most of this thread so I wouldn't see any crucial information. I haven't seen any episode of SFU this season. I've recorded all previous seasons/episodes from HBO On Demand, and I plan on doing that with this final season. So I'll get around to watching eventually, but I really don't know anything that's happened throughout the season other than
Spoiler: (Highlight this box to see the hidden message.)
Nate dying.
I guess by the time I finally watch what you guys have been talking about, you'll be on to something else. What can I say, I'm not a disciplined tv viewer.

I have been nothing but haunted since the final episode, I can't believe they were able to drive us to mourn in the same way as we so in real life! Amazing, and if this episode soesn't get every award and immortality it deserves, Then Hollywood is a true scham! When Claire was leaving, It took me right back to a time when I left Ohio to live in British Columbia. It was the hardest moments of my life, Not knowing if or when you'de ever see the people who were your life as long as you've had life, Life truly does flash before your eyes. Asolutely tore me up to the core. I'll never forget seeing Nate dissapearing in the rearview mirror, Espesially when the song started, qued so perfectly. Also did anyone else notice the picture of Ted was actually hanging on the ceiling above her bed? I think the idea of that hit me the hardest for some reason. To love someone so much that they are the first thing you want to see in the morning, even after they're gone, I hate to see it go but, God, what a gift it left us with, to see life and death in the most honest way possible. No other T.V. series could ever do that, and I hope to God no other series attempts to! I feel grateful and lucky to see such a thing in my lifetime

I agree. I have seen more than my share of series finales in my lifetime, but I think SFU's finale may possibly be the best one ever, and I say that as someone who was highly critical of seasons 3-5.

The ending was so profound. And that's the way life is.......

Nate was too, too much I even started feeling sorry for Brenda.

I'm going to miss the characters. The show went out with a BANG!

I also have to mention Nate's little darling. His beautiful little daughter. She was such a cutie. Hey......... I wonder what ever happened to her?

I agree with everyone's comments! I miss them all! I think this was a group of writers, producers and actors who know about life and death, and the ironic twists that life takes, and how we must take the pain, learn and move forward.

I also agree that if next Emmy year this show doesn't get all around nominations and wins in all catagories then Hollywood is the sham we think it is.

I weeped like a baby ! I've never seen such a sad ending.I watched it on my own, it was about 4 AM and it took me a few days to recover. I know, it's just a show...but it's so great it's become my favourite, and i've watched all 5 easons in a short period of time ( a couple of months) so i really missed the characters when it all ended.

PS : Keith getting killed and David seeing the love of his life while passing away really moved me.

10 years later, is the 'Six Feet Under' finale still the best drama ending ever? http://t.co/ycrXuz7PnC
