Eight CW series already renewed for 2015-16 season: I think only half of the renewed series (most likely Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, and The Flash) will have full seasons of 20+ episodes next season, but in reality, the network is not planning to ramp up limited episode orders despite the large volume of shows, and the fact that the network only programs 10 hours a week. And the mass renewal will leave limited room for new shows for next season.

"Stay Safe"? More like "Stay Sad".

The third season of Beauty and the Beast will premiere on Thursday, May 21 at 8pm. Beauty and the Beast has also been renewed for a fourth season to air in 2015-16.

Though the show doesn’t perform very well in the ratings, the 2012 Beauty and the Beast series does reportedly attract a relatively large online and international audience. It's worth noting that the 1987 Beauty and the Beast series only ran three seasons on CBS.

Hart of Dixie aired its final episode last Friday (March 27), after it was confirmed on March 13 that it would not be returning for Season 5.

There hasn't been an official decision regarding "Hart of Dixie's" 5th Season yet.

Hart of Dixie's creator and one of HoD's stars have indicated that the series ended with the 4th season, and all storylines have been wrapped up. If there was an official decision, they would have already made it by this point. Considering about 8 or so of The CW's current shows have already been renewed for next yeat, there wouldn't have been room for a 5th season of HoD anyway.

Default TV Network Scorecard: What’s Working and What’s Not

http://variety.com/gallery/network-t...atings/#!5/cw/

Quote:
CW

What’s Working: “The Flash” became the network’s strongest first-year series since “Vampire Diaries,” and spring launch “iZombie” has performed pretty well behind it. “Arrow” and veteran “Supernatural” have also been solid, and despite lower ratings, “The Vampire Diaries” remains a good young-adult draw for the network. “Whose Line Is It Anyway” and “Masters of Illusion” are good utility players.

What’s Not: As the network has broadened its audience to include more men, some of its more femme-focused shows (like “Hart of Dixie,” “Reign” and “America’s Next Top Model”) have struggled; newcomer “Jane the Virgin” has also delivered modest ratings but is a keeper due mostly to its strong critical acclaim.

Ratings: The CW is enjoying one of its better seasons in a while, running flat or up a bit vs. last year in all categories.

What’s Ahead: The network will try to recruit a larger audience for its critically acclaimed new hourlong comedy “Jane the Virgin,” which has been renewed for a second season. CW is bringing back “Beauty and the Beast” for another summer run, and it will be joined by new reality series “A Wicked Offer” and British scripted comedy “Dates.”

Key Shows

"The Flash," " Arrow," "Jane the Virgin": The Greg Berlanti superhero dramas are CW’s top-rated shows, while “Jane” is its series with the most critical support.

Hart of Dixie and The Messengers are cancelled, plus Cedric's Barber Battle (already pulled from the schedule).
