I wish they bump off 'Step By Step' . I mean really, hasn't ABC Family had enough of Susanne Somers? I'd rather see '8 Simple Rules' added to the ABC Family lineup.

8SR I don't think qualifies for syndication yet. I see nothing wrong with ABCF airing Step By Step

Step by Step should definitely stay on ABC Family. I just wish ABC Family would move it to a different time slot later in the day.

I agree with the person who said the network should bring back Growing Pains.

Then, in that case, they need to change there name. You cant be ABC Family and not have any family shows.

when Pat Robertson sold the Family Channel years ago, there was a requirement to keep "Family" in the name and air the 700 Club forever, they'd have to shut down the channel if they changed the name or dropped the 700 club, there's no requirement to keep airing "Family" programming, they could name it "Atheist Family Channel" if they wanted to

Pat, Pat, Pat...you might as well have an anti-trust for your station...and if they have sexier programming, call it SEX Family...sounds insane, but that's what America wants...for the most part!

Melissa & Joey and Baby Daddy are the only shows I watch on that channel and I haven't even watched them lately. This channel JTS years ago.

Ditto. I haven't watched ABC Family since they cancelled "Lincoln Heights." I'm still mad at them about that.

I do like M&J because of the two actors who were once on shows as children (Joey Lawrence with GAB and "Blossom" and MJH with CEIA and STTW).

Hart and Lawrence are VERY talented...and if Nell Carter was still with us...I'm sure she'd have a cameo on M&J!

I'm pretty sure that if they could, Disney, the current owners of ABC Family would like to change it. When they first purchased it, the original plan was to call the channel "XYZ" (the last three letters in the alphabet). If they decided to drop "Family" from the name, then in effect, that would be like creating an entirely new network from scratch. It would be extremely hard/complicated to renegotiate w/ cable companies and sponsors to carry and support this "new" channel.

but Disney probably have leverage to do that, tying it with ESPN or local ABC stations
