Question Eight Is Enough Boned the Fish When...

http://www.bonethefish.com/viewtopics.php?1326

Quote:
Eight Is Enough is an American television comedy-drama series which ran on ABC from March 15, 1977 until August 29, 1981. The show was modeled after syndicated newspaper columnist Thomas Braden, a real-life father with eight children, who wrote a book with the same name. The series was rare in that it was one of the few hour-long television series to use a laugh track. It made Dick Van Pattens career.

Never. It was a good family show until the end.

I voted "never". I always enjoyed the show and wished it would have continued further.

I don't get that option "Too many Abbys! Confusing." I only remember one Abby on the show. She was Betty Buckley's character.

I also don't get this option: "Reunion - Adam Rich looked scary grown up." This is Adam grown up. How is he scary looking?

Mary Frann played Abby in the reunion movies--but that option shouldn't matter since we are discussing the original series.

Mary Frann was cast as Abby because Betty Buckley was in Europe working on the film Frantic (1988).

Currently watching Season 5, and I reckon it's one of the best seasons - even with Ralph Macchio (who I do ordinarily find annoying, but he's okay in this). It's a shame the 5th season is the last as the episodes were definitely more fun and lighthearted and very colourful in an 80s way. Great show from start to finish.

I enjoyed all the seasons. In a way, each were a little different in their own way. I probably liked the early seasons the best but really did enjoy the later ones as well. It definitely think the show could have gone on for one more season, but I suspect with many cast members up for contract renewal, the show was going to get a lot more expensive.

I did not like the addition of Abby's punk nephew. Nothing against the actor but I saw no purpose in it.
