This is the only live action version of Spider-Man still not on DVD. It seems like something perfect for Shout! Factory to release.
The show is pure 70's fabulousness and the disco theme song is a hoot.
Shout is missing the boat on this one imo.

I wonder if Nicholas Hammond would love to see this on DVD as well

No, transferred them all from VHS. Good enough for me.

Almost all episodes of "The Amazing Spider-Man" (title shortened to simply "Spider-Man" in the second season) have been released to VHS but for one. Of course, all those video tapes are long out of print and can go for some fairly expensive prices on the secondary market.
But I'd love to see a complete series DVD release if Marvel and CBS/Paramount would ever get around to it. Most of the cast is still alive and well and it would be great to see interviews with them and Stan Lee as extras. If Paramount won't do it, I really wish Shout! Factory would consider it- they released both 1979 Captain America TV-movies to DVD a while back- it seems like this would be a fitting release for them too.

I'd love an audio commentary with cast, or even if just Hammond.

If Stan Lee did do an interview, I don't think he'd have much positive to say, I read/heard somewhere that he disliked the series and thought of it as juvenile.

Yes, I have read this as well. Still, sometimes time gives one a different perspective. Even if he does have some negative criticism, I'd still like to hear Stan Lee's insights on the show. (For comparison, just check out the commentaries on "Superboy" Season 1 with Ilya Salkind and John Haymes Newton- Salkind is trying to take it seriously and talk about the show respectfully and Newton is just goofing off and ragging on the show since it was pretty low budget, especially in the first season, and I can see how some might find it pretty laughable. I still love it regardless.)

Hey folks, if anyone is interested in buying this show and creating your own DVD copies I am selling my entire collection of 70s spider-man videos and memorabilia - including the rare laser disc copies. I have photos on my website, pm me.
