I just feel it would be far more funnier situations if a hot tub was on Three's Company instead of two older people.

I noticed one thing that differentiated The Ropers from 3's Co--they didn't rely on the every plot is basically a misunderstanding. Maybe that's what affected long term viewership.

That and the fact that they were from a show that was fun to watch which meant the viewers preferred to stick with the parent show and not bore themselves with the spinoff

was it really a hot tub?, cause I never saw any jets or anything. Looked like a kiddie pool.
