In the "mop" episode, Anne appears on a children's show as a character named Molly Mop. At the end of the program, the main character recites the close: "Gee, we've had a lot of fun But now there isn't any more So now let's pick up Molly Mop And let's begin to sweep the floor." While Anne as Molly isn't seen, we hear a series of cartoonish sound effects that suggest Molly is fighting with the main character and refusing to sweep the floor. I don't know if Marlo Thomas always sounded that way in real life, but Anne's voice always sounded like she was fighting a cold and/or laryngitis. I guess that was part of her charm.... |

The picnic episode was an outstanding classic. Her & Ted had good chemistry. In fact I'm not too fond of the episodes he wasn't in (3 of them I believe).

Kind of unique that the very first ep was her meeting Donald instead of her first arrival to the big city. |

I also like the what are your intentions ep. Think its from s1 where Lou wants Ann to date other men and Ann and don try to make each other jealous. BTW Kasey love your avitar. Its a living was one of my favorite shows as a kid.

I was going to start a new thread on it, but I've got an observation on the episode "Christmas and the Hard Luck Kid;" When Ann promised to invite Tommy over to the Marie family household for Christmas, and Mr. Merriman put his foot down an told her not to, he said it was because their insurance company was going to drop coverage on the school if Tommy got hurt. Sounds to me like they were concerned the teachers might be perverts who molest little kids, but weren't going to talk about that sort of thing on 1960's television. |
