Well, not totally true--it was VERY patient with Hill Street Blues and Cheers--two shows that were if they were on CBS or ABC at that time, would have been axed after a few episodes.

I was saying that at the time the network did have many hits so maybe Teachers Only did catch on fast enough.

The show finished the 81-82 season ranked #45 which was the same as Gimmie a Break and was not renewed.

it actully did get renewed for the 1982/83 season it was a midseason replacement it followed mamas family on saturday nights

Needles and Pins is very rare. I think I've only seen 2 of them, both at Library of Congress.

I remember seeing Needles and Pins on Friday nights on NBC. It was a short-lived sitcom set in New York's Garment District with Fell as the owner of Lorelei Fashions. Newcomer Deidre Lenihan played Nebraska transplant Wendy Nelson and veteran comedy actor Louis Nye portrayed Harry, Nathan's brother-in-law. The show flopped opposite CBS's Friday Night Movie and ABC'S comedy lineup.
