'Why the hell does Jack need to work so late?' Janet asked herself as she was lying in bed feeding her newborn. Brandy Grace Tripper was born two weeks ago. She had jet black hair and emerald green eyes. She was beautiful, no doubt.
There was also no doubt that Janet was not feeling well. She hadn't felt good since the birth. The first couple of days of her Brandy's arrival all she wanted to do was sleep. Things didn't really go so good when they got home either. Penny, Jack's mom, watched Michael while they were in the hospital or Jack was working and continued to stay with them for at least a month. Janet was too tired to play with Michael, she had all she could do to not going crazy with Brandy and Penny. God it was all a pain in the ass. So was Jack. He started working longer than usual hours and was barely home long enough to tuck Michael into bed. 'You bastard!' Janet would think to herself. 'Why the hell can't you be here to help me out!' Yet, Janet never came out and said anything. 'Maybe I should have?' *** Meanwhile, Jack was at the restaurant hanging up the 'Sorry, we're closed' sign on the entrance door. Then a blonde waitress taped him on the shoulder. It was Elaine, the one waitress that was worked from the day he decided to hire waiting jobs. She applied a new coat of mascara on her eyes and red lipstick. She also had a tight tank top on that wasn't her usual work attire and neither was the mini-skirt. "Going to drop me off at home again?" she said slipping on her raincoat. "If you want me to," Jack offered with a smile. |

Hi you guys. Just letting you know the next chapter is coming soon. It's the make or break in their marriage. So I want to know, how do you like it so far?

My dad never made it home. His car he and Elaine were driving in swerved off the road and crashed into a vacant lot. How he skidded off the road I'm not sure. Mom was heartbroken along with everyone else that knew him and was close to him. I don't remember the funeral and I'm glad. If I were old enough to remember, I don't think I would be able to handle it.
It was a sad situation all around. My mom lost a most of the time loving husband, me, a one year old, lost a dad that me and my newborn sister, Brandy, never got to meet. Grandpa and Grandma Tripper lost a son whom they dearly loved and Grandpa Wood lost a son-in-law. Grandpa Wood moved in with us after the funeral, he was getting older and just didn't want to live with the Indiana weather. He mostly took care of us when mom went to work. He was able to do that until we were old enough to take care of ourselves. He ended up with dementia and is now in a nursing home. I visit him sometimes. Another person who was in our lives much more after dad's death was Terri. About a couple of months before Brandy's birth, she got married to Tim Pecora, a real tough, intelligent, yet loving italian man. She had a daughter named Jenna who was and still is Brandy's best friend. Mom went into depression mode after dad's death. We were lucky to even get her through the funeral. She didn't want to see anybody, a whole month went by like this. She finally decided to change her life around and started going to a therapy group for women who had lost their husbands and made a lot of new friends through that program. I am told she is a lot more forgiving since after dad's death. She and dad's friend, Larry, started to get more friendly towards each other. My mom has dated but she vowed never to get married again. She started to see an auto-mechanic named Dave and they are going on their sixth month of dating. Me? Well, I'm 21 now and I'm preparing for my big day. I met a wonderful girl in college about two years ago. I don't know what it is but Jessica reminds me so much of mom. I actually feel like I got closer to mom after we got a relationship going. I can't wait to take care of her, I know we are going to have so much to look forward to, so much fun. The memories must go now, the music is starting... |

When I first started this story, no, I had no idea. Ideas just pop into my head and I try my best to tie it all in and have it make sense. I wanted to make it a bittersweet ending because I looked back and thought to myself "Wow, could I have made this any sweeter? I need some sort of plotline to give this story some substance!" I think I made my point. Thank you for reading, I hoped you like it.

Yes, I liked it very much. The ending was very well done. I've come to think that J+J was somehow not in the stars. Thank you.
