I loved both the movie and the tv show! As a matter a fact, I used some of the words they used on the show in HS...Like a VALLEY GIRL!

Sean Holland's character in the movie was named Lawrence, in the TV series his name was Sean. In the movie Julie Brown was Miss Stoeger, in the TV series she was Coach Deemer. Both actors played the same character in both the movie and the show, so I don't understand the reasoning behind the name change.

I couldn't help but think and wonder the same thing concerning the name changes. The show itself seem to slowly fore-go its connections (especially with Dan Hedaya's original father character during the latter seasons) with the material that it was originally based on which itself was based on an old book that a majority of the target audience more than likely never cared to read in their life.

I really did not care much for the sitcom, I only watched the show to see Stacy Dash, who is easily one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen in my life.
