I was confused because there was no indication that Jo was going to die and then all of the sudden she was dead. How did she die? What caused her death? I thought I missed something, but I went back and checked and couldn't find any explanation for her death at all.

Oh, I thought I made that clear with: "I could see the tears in Sarah’s eyes, and then I knew, we’d never see Jo again."

She died from a child brith infection.

I understood from that quote that she was going to die, I just didn't know why she was going to die. Thanks for clearing that up. Very sad, but a good story.
