What is wrong with liking that show? And as far as the tv guide cover is concerned, I think the article that was inside was abt how television perceived the south. Sometimes the cover showed a tv character but it had nothing to do with the show being a big-time hit.

There was nothing wrong with liking the show, i posted the ratings for fans of the show who may not have known what they were

, I was alive in 1977 and you weren't.
Secondly, I lived in a three channel universe--we had ABC, CBS, and NBC. We did not even have PBS in those days. I lived on a farm, so I could relate to the more rural humor. And if the show was that stinking bad, I don't think I would have kept watching the syndicated reruns.

Of course, I haven't seen the show in years so my thoughts may change

I watched this show a lot when it was on. It was pretty funny! It'd be nice to see it again since it's been so long, but I did like the main character a lot.

That's right! I was wondering why she looked so familiar! I didn't know that the two shows were on during the same period though. I can't remember that far back!

I remember watching some episodes back then. It was pretty funny I thought, as a 12-year old at the time myself.
