Default Does anyone remember "Carter Country" which ran from 1977-79?

It starred Victor French (Mr. Edwards from Little House). I liked the show. It was different, but alot of people didn't like it. It also starred Kene Holliday, Vernee Watson and a very young Melanie Griffith. The name was in part to the fact that Jimmy Carter was president at the time.

I remember that show. It was always one of my favorites. It was syndicated pretty good in the 1980's at least in NC. I haven't seen it since though.

I really wish it would be seen again but I think their was only about 44 episodes. A DVD release would be great though.

I thought it was a pretty funny show. It managed to last two seasons (from
Sept. 15, 1977 to Aug. 23, 1979). Victor French later returned to LITTLE
HOUSE and then went on to co-star in HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN. Kene Holliday
was a regular on MATLOCK during its first three seasons (1986-1989). Trivia
note: Harvey Vernon (who played Deputy Jasper) later guest-starred in an
episode of HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN, reuniting him with former co-star French.

I didn't know what cable was back then, but I'm sure I still would've watched it anyway.

You know if you had the options you have today back in 77 you would have never watched Carter Country. Nobody would have-lol

I still would have. It was syndicated in the 1980's where I lived and I had cable then and I still watched. I think even the least successful sitcoms from the 1970's are better than most of the hit sitcoms of today.

Maybe Carter Country is better in syndication rather than Primetime

I watched the show when it originally aired, it was one of my favorite shows. Too bad it isn't running in syndication.
