Oh God yes!!!! I remember watching it back in the 70's. I thought, this cartoon is very weird, different, and one hell of a funny show. It definitely was waaaay ahead of its time. I am excited that Matt is going to record it. I really love this show, it's right up there with Family Guy.

...(which was originally pitched to ABC) appeared on "LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE" as the segment "Love and The Old-Fashioned Father", in January 1972[as part of Hanna-Barbera's deal with Paramount to release their theatrical feature "Charlotte's Web" in '73]. When their pilot episode was rejected by ABC as a weekly series, H-B decided to syndicate the show themselves (through their corporate parent Taft Broadcasting, and Worldvision Enterprises), picking up General Motors' Chevrolet division as a national sponsor {that's why there's a car prominently featured in the opening title}, and distributed the show to local stations [including New York's WNBC-TV] beginning in the fall of 1972. I remember that. LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE was a fun show to watch.

Did you see a movie produced by Norman Lear called "Cold Turkey" about people trying to quit smoking? Starring Dick van Dyke and Pippa Scott. and many actors from Norman Lear's TV shows, and other TV favs--Jean Stapleton, Tom Poston, Barnard Hughs, ...
I loved the movie! At the time, I was amazed to hear the word "bull****!" from the little old lady "Oldie Truman" ( played by the woman who played the grandma on the "Phyllis" show ( spin-off of Cloris Leachman's character on Mary Tyler Moore ). In one scene, she points a gun at one fellow, saying "I think he looks like a Communist!" ( in fact, he was the villain --an employee, maybe a PR of the Tobacco company who was putting up the money for the prize for the first town that could quit smoking --the town of Eagle Rock did so well, that this fellow sneaked in, with a lot of cigarettes to tempt the townsfolk. )

The old lady was dressed the same as the cartoon character, only her male cohort was the fellow who played Charlie Haggars on Mary Hartman, Graham Jarvis.
Judith Lowry was the woman's name. I think she must have provided the voice for the cartoon character. I couldn't find it on the imbd site.

show wasn't a huge hit as bigger things awaited him two

If anyone is interested I have all 48 episodes on Dvd with cases and art for sale. It took 12 years to collect every episode as they do not release some episodes for years so it very difficult to collect even 30 episodes. Can someone please clear this up? I just got Boomerang a month ago, starting recording those episodes, only to find out that they're just cycling through season 1 eps over and over. With the official season one release coming out, I'd be interested at this point in season two, since it's likely I'll purchase the first season.
Have they shown any of the eps from seasons 2 and 3 on Boomerang? It seems ridiculous that they would show the same 24 eps seven days a week.

"Wait till your father gets home" was mostly animated by the then new Australian Hanna Barbera unit.
I say new because up until then Bill Hanna had sub contracted to Eric Porter Animation ( Funky phantom, Superfriends, The Chan Clan) and Air programs incorperated (Funky Phantom).
Bill talked many of the animators into leaving these two studios to form Australian Hanna Barbera.
One of the first shows was wait, many of the animators had earlier worked with Porters/artransa Park studios on the animated saturday morning Beatles cartoon.
