I take swipes at lawyers every chance I get! LOL

I can't imagine why he would live off of Anna instead of being a man and continue to make a living as a lawyer, even if he sold his practice, he could still do work, outside of helping Anna (or enabling Anna).

His wife wasn't Anna's hired nurse. She just happened to be nurse.

If your wife, mother, sister, any loved one....was deathly ill, with a 105 temp, an oozing abscess, diareah, vomiting, in and out of consciousness....do you think you'd call 911? Everyone who was with her and trying home remedies is to blame, but Stern....it was his call to make.
I do think he was just as at fault, but I think it's fishy that a trained professional and supposed friend would allow this to go on. In the end it was Anna's call, as sick as she was. I think it was shady that Howard listened to her when she said she didn't want to go to the hospital. It's a shame. I guess we have to wait til Monday to find out if any of this is true(its a tabloid after all). But one thing is for sure, that baby should go to Brad and Angelina, no one in her life should be near that child.

...I would have physically taken someone in that condition to the hopsital. I would also never allow any of my loved ones to get to the point that she was at. Thats what I dont get about all the people in her life. I dont understand how you can sit around and watch someone you supposedly love ruin their life over drugs.

I don't think Anna was in any shape to make any decisions. Supposedly, she and Stern considered themselves married, so it was HIS call to make. He should have called 911. Just pick up the phone and call 911. It's really as simple as that.

LOL at the baby going to Brad and Angelina. That baby needs to be with her natural father, whomever that may be.

As for watching those you love ruin their lives over drugs...it's hard, they don't listen. I lost two sisters to drugs and alcohol. My family had interventions, I talked and cried to them until I was blue in the face. I fought with them, begged them....they don't listen.

Too true...My brothers have been addicted to hardcore drugs, and no matter how much they desire to get off of them, they just can't. Pleading with them hardly works...sadly, sometimes it takes a near-death experience to wake them up, and even then it might not work.

I know the feeling all too well of dealing with this

So true Janice. We have had a few conversations discussing this very topic.

One thing is for sure, until a person who is addicted WANTS HELP AND ADMITS THEY HAVE A PROBLEM, you really can't do anything. You can scream, yell, beg, plead, bribe, threaten, etc. IT DOESN'T WORK. Drugs/alcohol are the devil's doing and I have nothing but sympathy for those addicted. I am glad to know that I learned something from what I went through for 16 years rather than come away from that situation NOT HAVING LEARNED A DAMN THING. I am currently helping my boyfriend's best friend who is right now in a situation where he needs understanding. But until he admits he has a problem, we can only offer him our help when he is ready to make that decision.

So true. It makes me think of Andy Gibb: how he wasted his life and talent on drugs and died at 30. He went through a failed marriage, going broke and chemical dependency by the time he was 27 -- my age now!! His family begged him time and time again to get help, and by the time he did, the damage was done. Same goes for Karen Carpenter and her eating disorder: by the time she began eating again and put on weight, her internal organs couldn't take anymore, and it was too late. So so sad.

I'm sorry that you're going through this. It's heartbreaking watching our loved ones destroy their lives, and to feel so powerless to help them. I know what you're going through. It used to tear me up something terrible. All those years of worrying, and now a lifetime of grieving.
