Angry

To some "Sally hating Punk":

Debbie Gibson bites!!! And looks like Peg Bundy, not in a good way.

Sorry "Married...with Children" fans. Katie Segal looks OK. I was talking about her character.

What you you feel like if I went to a Debbie Gibson board and bashed her!?!
Though there is enough Debbie Gibson bashing on the "I Love The '80'" board. If you're interested.

Sad

BTW, I think Sally was ripped off from "I Love The '80's" & "I Love The '80's Strikes Back".
I know she did some movies and said the "You Like Me" speech at the 1985 Oscars. But I didn't post any comments since Michael Ian Black, "'80's Basher"...what I refer to him as...would bad mouth Sally like some moron who wrote bad things....

Default gidget

sandra dee was much better looking. imo she had a prettier face and developed quite a curvy body as well. how old was each during their gidget run? i recall dee was very young at that time. i never understood the popularity of sally field myself. to me she was just a plain slice of bread. nothing really set her apart in looks or talent. talk about bad acting, remember sally in those bandit movies?

Default The Hells Of Grade School Mentality Haunt the board

I get so sick and tired of people who always have to boil stuff down to "so-and-so is a better-looking person than so-and-so" I like Sally and Sandra for different reasons and I think they both did a great job with the character.
If it wasn't for Sally, I know a great many guys, myself included who would have written the Gidget franchise off as something only a certain segment of the population could related to. Sally was the girl next door for a lot of us guys- fun, cute, smart. She got a lot of us into that whole surf and sun scene, and in turn we discovered that there was a whole different run of Gidget movies with Sandra.

I don't know how long this debate has been going on, but even one reply was one reply too many. I recall someone here going on in all sorts of directions about Aryan origins and so on and how Sally represented something not Aryan at all! Why in h*ll I even responded I don't know.
So, I'm outta here. Everyone can have their opinions but this thread is just ridiculous.
