at the end of the show, starting with the third season on film (fourth season altogether). This would be just the two of them in front of a curtain, delivering a brief routine recreated from their vaudeville days...or new material
[i.e. Gracie talking about her many Allen relatives- "Death Valley Allen", for one]. Later, they got a little more elaborate, and performed in front of a special curtain with the names of the vaudeville circuits and theaters they had performed in...very charming segments, and you get the sense of how well they worked together as a team!! One line that sounds like a "wheeze" if anyone else delivered it, but sparkled when Gracie told it, was when her Uncle Harvey was a plumber's helper, and the plumber was telling him EXACTLY what to do... GRACIE: ...so he said, "Now when I nod my head, you hit it with this hammer". GEORGE: [after a slight pause] So? GRACIE: So, the plumber did, and Uncle Harvey did! GEORGE: And now Uncle Harvey dosn't work for the plumber anymore. GRACIE: There IS no plumber anymore!
