But if Crumbs is in that slot in January, there will be no Apprentice then. I'm sure the next installment of The Apprentice will be even lower rated, as the pattern has shown. There is talk even of it moving, possibly to Tuesdays.

NBC defintely has to do something with Thursdays... but I think it's 8pm that is hurting the whole night. Joey is going to have to move or everything will fail.

Yes, that is for sure the problem. But The Apprentice is also not what it used to be. Here is what NBC should do, but probably won't of course:

Tuesdays
8:00pm Fear Factor, 9:00pm Apprentice, 10:00pm Law & Order: SVU

Thursdays
8:00pm My Name is Earl, 8:30pm New sitcom, 9:00pm Will & Grace, 9:30pm Scrubs/new sitcom, 10:00pm ER

NBC has three new sitcoms and Scrubs on the bench for mid-season--sitcom wise.

As for ratings, L&O franchise is way down, especially the original and CI, thanks to heavy competition (DH, CSI: NY, Invasion, etc). SVU is doing excellent, though (someone should be bold and move a hit show against it next year, Grey's Anatomy??). My Name is Earl and ER are higher rated than The Apprentice.

Yeah... I'm surprised SVU is still doing so well. I think the original and CI have just gotten "old".

My Name is Earl... that reminds me, why does NBC keep ordering more episodes of The Office?

Oh and I like your schedule for the most part... Earl should defintely go to Thursdays.

SVU has been the best L&O show for years. The original hasn't been the same since Jerry Orbach left.

This Is How I would Fix NBC's Schedule (Days I don't metion stay the same)

9:00 Law & Order: CI
10:00 Crossing Jordon

Monday
8:00 Surface
9:00 Las Vegas
10:00 Medium

Tuesday
8:00 New Drama
9:00 The Apprentice
10:00 Law & Order: SVU

Wednesday
8:00 E-Ring
9:00 Fear Factor
10:00 Law & order

Thursday
8:00 My Name Is Earl
8:30 Four Kings
9:00 Will & Grace
9:30 Scrubs
10:00 ER

Friday
8:00 Dateline
9:00 Three Wishes
10:00 New Drama

Saturday (No other new programming besides cbs at 10, NBC could win)
8:00 Joey
8:30 Filmore Middle
9:00 The Office
9:30 Thick & Thin
10:00 New Drama

Leaving Sunday and Monday the same I brought back fear factor, the 3 new sitcoms and returning scrubs and 3 new dramas (IDK how many dramas NBC has planned)...

See I think there's an audience on Saturday as well... look at what has happened this season on Fridays. Close to Home moved there and is the highest-rated Friday show in years... coupled with Ghost Whisperer and Numb3rs and CBS is unstoppable. I remember over the summer people(including me) saying Friday was like Saturday... and it's not... and with some risks, Saturday can change.

NBC can do it to, If they heavily premote it and say new comedy and all this stuff I bet alot of people could watch and they could also raise there status right now, They would most likely win saturdays with The Office having a 7.99 this week and Joey having 8.02 if all the same viewers were transitioned over to Saturdays it would work perfectly. I think they should start promoting the move in late january and by march late feb early march they move it promote it like hell get good ratings next year it will be bigger than it was this mid season, you know what im saying...

Also, Pav can I have your permission to open up a "Your Dream Mid-Season Schedules" Thread? Im asking cause it would be mostly like what were doing here only with all the networks...

It think it's a huge mistale that the networks have given Saturdays up for dead. Last Saturday, for instance, the networks combined drew a pathetic 18.9 rating and a 33 share. On Thursday they drew a 29.7/46 (big 4 only). Although the audience is certainly lower on Saturday (57 ratings points avaliable versus 64.5 on Thursday), it's not as low as the networks make it out to be. I think that with the right programming, one network could easily average a 10 rating on the night.

This past Saturday was the highest rated Saturday in quite awhile...(SVU repeat got an 11 share at 10pm)... Even the last place FOX got a 7 share both at 8pm and 9pm.

And that's so sad. 9 seasons ago CBS was averaging 17 million viewers on the night with the combo of Dr. Quinn/Touched By An Angel/Walker, Texas Ranger. I don't see why ABC & NBC, the lowest rated networks on the night, don't bother to give it back to the local affiliates and cease to have it counted in their overall averages.

ABC is planning original programming soon for Saturdays with reality/game show type shows.
