Season 1 of "Fame" TV series will be released on DVD on 11/1/05

There was talk a while back on a Fame website about Lee Curreri doing something involved with a potential dvd release of the series. I don't remember exactly what is was, maybe commentary or an interview. Whatever it was it looks like there won't be any special features on this set, which kinda sucks, but I'll be glad to have the episodes. If Lee really did do something for the dvd, and assuming he already got paid for input, I wonder why they wouldn't just include it. Wouldn't make sense to prepare a bonus feature and not use it.

I just hope sales are good enough to merit a season 2. I will buy the DVD's but I much want to see the syndicated episodes more, those were the episodes I grew up watching. On NBC here, they used to air it at 7 pm on Saturday nights, so as a kid, I was used to Fame coming on before Diff'rent Strokes and then Facts Of Life. Like with Mama's Family, I liked the syndicated Fame episodes more

maaaaaan, the Saturday night 1985-1986 NBC lineup will never be topped, I'd say it rivaled the Thursdays from that era. Fame/Gimme A Break/Facts Of Life/Golden Girls/227

I love the whole series but I'm probably more into the syndicated episodes too. I remember the Nia Peeples/Jesse Borrego/Billy Hufsey later years than I remember the very first season, so the deeper into the series it goes, I'll continue to be excited. It even had a great final year.
