Once she was back at the station CD immediatly went looking for her boss. She finally found the woman she had been looking for and caught up with her while she was adjusting a scarf around her head, to cover her hair because she was about to drive away in her convertible.
Entering the parkinglot the tall blonde woman started to complain. "Captain, I can't believe you did that to me! You shoulda see him up on that roof! That is such an idiotic dork! I don't need a new partner, let alone HIM."

"CD" Kate, the captain of the felony division said, "Look, he's your new partner wether you like it or not. The two of you are stuck together."

"No way Cap! He's a sexist macho male idiot!" She protested.

"You just described half the population of this planet... and trust me, I'm not happy about that either, but it isn't a good enough reason. He's your partner and that was that. You're the only one riding alone anyway, he's used to undercover work since he worked for Vice. So he needs somebody to learn from, and you're the best choice for that. Besides, I'm sure you know how to deal with a macho." Kate said as they approached her car.

"The first thing he pointed out to me was that his dick isn't little, and he told me something like 'come on, you know you want me'" Rolling her eyes CD repeated that.

Upon that Kate had to chuckle. "I'm sure he was joking around with you... and I'm also sure you probably provoked him. He's your new partner. Deal with it."

"Did you even listen to me? He said..." CD started again.

"Yes I heard it. He made a joke." Kate cut her off and got into her car.

"But what he said..." CD didn't stop yet. "That's a problem."

"Oh yeah?" Kate asked with raised eyebrow. "And what exactly is the problem? That you don't want him, or that you do want him?" With that she started the engine and didn't even give CD enough time to let those words sink in. "You both have to re-qualify at the target range or you're both off the streets." Turning around she pulled out of the parkinglot and drove off.
