The 2nd episode was better but the show still needs a lot of work.It just seems like a show and not a "Friends" or "Will & Grace" or even "Good Morning Miami" where it feels like you personally know the characters you know? I mean, the acting on "Friends" sucks IMO but this is awful!

Thumbs down I'm just not into this version

I truly think that is show is horable. I love the british version. I really think that americans have to stop ripping off other ideas. I don't think that's going to happen.

The one thing I really don't like is the fact the they're using the same script as the britsh. Just with american dialog.

With that said I hope the american version gets cancaled

Last night I taped the new episode on NBC and the British version of the same episode off of BBC-A. This weeknd, I'm going to do a line by line comparison, with detailed notes on all tha actors and how they interpret their characters to find out once and for all which version is superior.

In case you were wondering, I have nothing to do this weekend....

Coupling passed my 3-episode test. I like it a lot. Last night's funeral episode was very funny. As I become more familiar with the characters, I enjoy it more. I'm not thinking, 'Who's that or who's with who?'.

I don't know about a British version, and it doesn't matter to me. All In The Family and Three's Company were originally British shows. Funny is funny. It was hilarious when the guys were doing their Reservoir Dogs thing. I hope this show lasts and keeps improving as it has been. I love adult comedies.

Note to TJL: This show is custom made for you. Put down your magnifying glass, watch it and laugh.
You know I'm kidding of course, but from what I know of you, and few know we're involved in an illicit affair, lol, I think this is your sort of show.

Yes, I can be very analytical with some shows; but when TV writing is a hobby (and some day future occupation) I do study a show rather than just watch. But, this is a great way to see the differences in style between a British show and its American spinoff, mostly because they're using the same scripts almost word for word, which is something they didn't do with "Three's Company" or "Sanford And Son."
Some shows I watch purely for pleasure, but the ones I really have an appreciation for, and that fit with the style of comedy that I write, I will study every nuance.
And as for our *ahem* affair, well now everyone now knows why I nominated you Governor of California.

After 3 eps, I would give it a B.

I dont think its the greatest show ever.

But I think its worth watching. It is funny at times.

Coupling is being preempted this week for a repeat episode of Whoopi. It will also be preempted on October 30th for supersized episodes of Friends, Scrubs, and Will And Grace.
