I wasn't impressed. It felt awkward, strange and unfunny. I will, however, give it my three episode try.
If it doesn't grab me after three eps, I throw in the towel. |

I watched half of it and it was very awkward.
You can tell right off the bat that these actors are not comfortable with their characters and they are far off from anything resembling chemistry. And even when a joke may have been funny, it didn't work in relation to the script, the actors or the delivery. Who knows with time, but it is a bad start. |

I kind of feel the same way.I like the British version better and The acting on this show is awful.Plus, It''ll soon be up against "The OC", A show that I love.

I thought it was awfull. It seemed like they were trying way to hard to be edgy and it just came of as crude and stupid. I dont even mind the occasional crude and stupid show if its funny but it just wasn't funny. And dlemond was right about the chemistry on this show- there was none. I dont think that this show is going to be the hit NBC expected.

I didn't think it was that bad. Some parts were alot better than others. I really like that Jane woman ... she was the only one who made me laugh, like when she was playing her cell phone game and she was like "Yay!"

I honestly thought it was not funny and I watched the whole thing. I didn't find anything funny. I felt embrassed for them.

I taped it last night, and am going to watch some time this evening.
I'm a bit upset that I was not able to post the first negative review.

I finally watched the show. It wasn't that bad but it did seem like another Friends clone that nbc is famous for. I didn't see anything too bad in it either. I wonder why it was given all the hype.

I finally got a chance to see the pilot this afternoon, and I wasn't impressed. The juiced up laugh track didn't help much either.
It's just not that funny. If you get a chance, tape the British version on BBC America. Both the British and American versions are using the same scripts (with some British references changed for America) but the British cast is funnier. Despite having one of the prettiest female casts in recent memory, this show didn't do it for me. Out of a possible four winks, I give "Coupling"

Yesterday afternoon I watched the episodes I taped off BBC America, and as I stated in my other post, the British cast is better. Plus, the British version is almost ten minutes longer (they actually do a thirty minute show, as apposed to the 22 minutes American sitcoms do) so some things will be left out, which is a shame because there is one great joke referring to the movie "Resevoir Dogs" in an upcomming episode I now is going to be left out.
Tape "Coupling" off BBC America. You'll enjoy it a lot more than "must see TV's" inferior remake. |

I believe a single episode of the British version will air on Bravo, Tuesday October 7th at 11pm. Most likely a one time thing (it will be the episode Size Matters). I'm pretty sure it's the British version, at least it's what my TiVo guide and Yahoo TV search says.
The british version is much better, and it airs quite often on BBC America. If anyone wants to watch, an encore of the US pilot will air on Bravo Tuesday September 30th at 11pm. |
