“She didn’t have to have the mastectomy because the cancer
hadn’t spread. They removed the cancer from her left and right
breasts, but both of them stay.”
Jinny and Kate smiled. “That’s great,” Teddy replied and
hugged his friend.
“Daddy, I don’t understand!” Isiah shrieked. “What are you
saying? Is Mommy going to die?”
Nate went to his son and picked him up. “Mommy’s going to be
fine, and they got all the bad stuff off of her. The surgery went very
well, but they’re still finishing up.”
Isiah nodded. “So I can see her soon?” he pleaded.
Nate grinned. “As soon as they come out, I’m going to go check
on her to see if she wants any visitors, and then I’ll come back and
get you to take in with me, okay?”
Isiah smiled. “Okay, Daddy,” he replied.
Kate’s cell went off, and she answered it to hear encouraging
words for CD and a message that Mag and Raina would be there as
soon as their shift ended.



The surgeon came back out fifteen minutes later and signaled
for Nate.
Nate walked up to him. “Can I go back now?” he asked.
The doctor nodded. “Yes, you can, but keep in mind that she’s
very exhausted and some anesthesia is still in her. Also take note
that the surgery required her to lose a significant amount of blood,
but we’re filtering some into her as we speak.”
Nate nodded, but didn’t really understand what he meant until he
got into CD’s room.
CD was lying in a bed, her eyes closed tightly and her eyebrows
wrinkled in pain. Her chest was wrapped in gauze, and blood had
spread through and was all over the sheets. They were going to
change it as soon as Nate’s visit was over.
He walked over to her and picked up her hand. Her eyes
immediately blinked and her lips carved themselves into a small
grin.
“I knew it would be you,” she whispered. “I’m glad.”
He smiled. “I’m glad you’re okay, baby. The doctor said you
did wonderful.”
“I did?” she asked and glanced at her chest. “How does it
look?” She asked him. “Truthfully, how is it?”
He grinned and kissed her passionately on the lips. “They’re
beautiful,” he remarked. “If they weren’t so sore, I’d assume my usual
position on them,” he teased her.
She smiled. “Nate, I’m being serious.”
“So am I!” Nate exclaimed. “They’re the best they’ve ever looked,
just a little smaller from the cancer being gone.”
“Little smaller?” she muttered.
“Yeah, just a little,” he replied and decided to tell her. “They’re still
there, ya know.”
CD’s face contorted. “What? No they’re not, Nate, look at the
blood on the gauze. They’re gone, I just got done with the surgery.”

they did it.”

waiting room, along with Isiah, Teddy, and Jinny. Magda and
Raina are probably in there now, too.”
She smiled. “Wow, that’s really nice of them,” she replied. “I
can’t believe they’d wait out there for so long.”
He kissed her. “They love you, CD, and they were concerned.
They wanted to be here for you and for me.”
She pulled her face back up to his, begging for another kiss. She
got what she wanted. “I love you, Nate,” she whispered, her energy
almost completely gone.
“I love you, too, CD,” he murmured against her lips as he pulled
back. “I love you with all of my heart.”
Her eyes closed and she soon fell asleep. He dropped her hand
and let the nurses come in to change her sheets and gauze for the
night.
He went back to the waiting room. “She’s asleep,” he explained.
“She’s in very good spirits, and she thanks everyone of you for being
here.”
“We wouldn’t have it any other way,” Jinny replied, and
everyone else nodded.
“Can I see her then?” Isiah asked.
Nate’s smile turned into a frown. “Isiah, I’m very sorry, but
Mommy needs her rest, and they’re changing her clothes now, so she
can sleep.”
Isiah nodded. “Okay,” he replied. “Can I talk to her
tomorrow?”
Nate smiled. “Of course you can.”
Kate spoke up. “Well, we should all leave, so you can go home.”
He shook his head. “I’m going to stay here, it’s where I need to
be,” he said. “It’s where I want to be.”
Kate nodded and understood. Everyone else got up, hugged
Nate, and said their good byes. Isiah kissed his daddy and promised
to be a good boy. Nate hugged Kate before she left with him.
“Thank you,” he simply stated.
“You’re very welcome.” She smiled. “The kids will be just fine,
and you can call us tomorrow when we can come see her.”
He nodded. “I will,” he replied and pulled out his wallet.
“Here, let me give you some money in case they want...”
“Nope,” she stopped him. “If they want something, I’ve got it
covered.” She held a finger up to his lips when he started to protest.
“Save it, Nate. I’m Grandma Katie, and what Grandma says, goes,”
she replied and turned to Isiah. “Isn’t that right?”
Isiah giggled and nodded.
“Ya see?” she asked.
Nate laughed and saluted her. “Yes, ma’am, I understand.” He
hugged her once more. “I will never be able to repay you for being
our kids’ Grandma. I just wish the others would come around, too.”
Kate nodded. “I do, too, but what would be the point? The kids
would just love me more after meeting those crazy women!”
Nate laughed. “You’re right,” he said and let go of her. He
watched her grab Isiah’s little hand, and they left him alone in the
waiting room.

The night nurse came out and told him that they’d sat up a bed next
to CD for him to stay in. It wasn’t all the time they did that, but they
made special arrangements for that family.
Nate settled in for the night and faced his body towards CD. He
couldn’t remember the last time he’d watched her just sleep. He was
always too busy trying to get her clothes off to look at the actual art
of her. She was gorgeous, even when she wasn’t naked and they were
having sex.
He came to the simple conclusion hours later that she was an
angel. He was his guardian angel, and his life was complete. He had
a beautiful family that would grow more through the years, friends
that cared for them and helped them through difficult times, and a
job that he loved. His life was perfect.The greatest person in his world
was going to be okay. His lover, his wife, the mother of his children.
His very best friend had made it. She’d survived, and she’d pulled
through to be with him. On Earth and for Eternity.

CD woke up the next morning to her husband staring back at her.
She grinned and replied, “Good morning, baby, did you sleep well?”
He smiled and climbed out of his bed. “Sleep is overrated, I did
something better.”
She looked at him puzzled. “What did you do?”
“I watched an angel sleep all night.”
She blushed. “Nate...” she started.
“No, no, don’t argue, you are absolutely gorgeous, and I can’t
wait till you get out of here.”
CD held her hand for Nate to come and take it. “I figured
you’d enjoy your vacation without me.”
“Are you kidding me?!” he exclaimed. “I can’t make it through
one night without you, and the nurse had to set up a bed for me, so I
could be with you.”
She smiled. “I love you,” she murmured as her eyes fluttered
back to sleep.
“I love you, too, honey,” he kissed her cheek and let her hand
drop back down to her side. He left the room to go make a call to
Kate and family.

Kate brought the little hoodlums about an hour later. CD was sitting
up, watching TV, and picking through her food when she heard the
racket run through the door.
“MOMMY!” Isiah and Christina shouted as they ran to their
mother’s side.
CD smiled. “Hi guys, did you miss me?” she asked them as Nate
lifted Christina up to see CD, and Kate sat Isiah up on the bed.
Christina nodded, and Isiah replied, “Yes, Mommy we missed
you! Are you all better now?” he worriedly asked.
CD grinned. “I sure am! Mommy’ll even get out of here in a
couple of days!”
“Does that mean we get to stay with Grandma Katie for
longer?” Isiah begged.
Nate laughed. “Nope, kiddo, the two of you can go home with
me tonight.”
“But Daaad,” Isiah whined, “we want to stay with Grandma
Katie. She lets us have ice cream and stay up late watching
cartoons.”
Nate gave a sideways glance to Kate, who was blushing. “Is
that true?” he asked her.
She nodded guiltily. “There just too persuasive for me to say
no,” she admitted. “Christina’s got those big blue eyes just like her
mom, and that Isiah could trick me into anything, just like his
daddy!”
“Well, I make them mind when they’re with me!” Nate
exclaimed. “When I say it’s bedtime, it’s bedtime! When I say only
good food for a snack, that’s what they get!”
CD laughed. “Yeah, Nate, sure you do!” she retorted. “Since
when are two toddlers bedtimes at 11 and good food for growing
bodies is as much chocolate bars as you can give them before Mommy
comes in the room?”

and some wrestlers! Christina got Barbies, a doll, and other things,”
Isiah rattled off matter-of-factly.
CD rolled her eyes. “The essentials, huh?”
Kate laughed. “Yeah, the other things we found we liked will
wait until Christmas.”
Isiah looked as his mom with puppy dog eyes. “Can we go back
to Grandma Katie’s now to play with our stuff?” he begged.
CD smiled. “Sure you can, sweety. Get your stuff together, so
when Daddy comes you’ll be ready to leave.”
“But Mom..” Isiah whined. “I wanna stay with Grandma
again.”
Kate smiled. “I’d love the company, CD, if you want them to
stay another night.”
Nate grinned and kissed his son. “You’re a spoiled brat, ya
know that right?”
Isiah giggled and nodded. “Uh huh,” he replied.
Kate laughed. “Okay, so you two ready to go?”
Isiah nodded and Christina babbled her approval. CD kissed
her kids and hugged them the best she could without allowing them
too close to her chest. CD handed off Christina to Nate, who squirmed
in his arms and tried to talk to him.
Kate got their stuff together, and her and Nate put coats on
the kids. Kate walked to CD’s side and kissed her forehead. “Keep
getting better, Inspector, we want you back as soon as possible.”
CD grinned. “I’ll be back quickly, just as soon as I get my
approval from the doc and my partner,” she replied and smiled
towards Nate.
“Since I never want her to go back...” he started and smirked.
“Yeah right, you’d be so lonely,” she replied back and kissed
him.
“Okay, that’s our cue to exit!” Kate exclaimed. She hugged
Nate. “Call me if you need anything, we’ll come visit again
tomorrow, and I’ll keep the kids until CD’s out of the hospital.”
“Kate.....” Nate started to protest.
“Nope, don’t even try it,” she said and opened the door to
leave. “Kate has spoken.” And she shut the door.
Nate smiled and looked at his wife. “So now what?” he asked
her.
She mischievously grinned. “Come here, I have a secret to tell
ya,” she replied and waited for him to have a seat on her bed.
He smiled at her and grabbed her hand. “What is it?” he
asked.
She kissed him gingerly on the lips. “Mmmm,” she giggled
against him.
“I love these kind of secrets,” he murmured as he laid her down
on her hospital bed and kissed her passionately, being careful to not
touch her sore spots.

up to answer it.
“Let it ring, baby,” Nate whispered and kissed her cheek,
pleading.
She grinned. “There’ll be more time for that, Nate,” she replied
and answered the phone, much to his disappointment. “Hello?”
“Hi CD!” a voice exclaimed. “How are you feeling today?”
CD smiled. “Hi Jinny, I’m doing very well, thanks. How’s the
hubby?”
Jinny giggled. “He’s great,” she responded. “Actually I think
we’re going away for the weekend.”
“Really?” CD asked. “That’s great!”
Jinny nodded. “Yeah, we’re going into LA and staying
somewhere. That way we’ll be outta San Francisco for a change of
scenery, and I think we’re going to get some Christmas shopping
done.” She paused. “By the way, what are Christina and Isiah
wanting for Christmas?”
CD laughed. “I’m the wrong person to be asking that question,”
she replied. “Nate and I haven’t gotten them anything, and their
grandma is currently buying them everything they glance at.”
Jinny laughed. “Okay, sounds like I’ll talk to Kate before we
leave then,” she said and listened to CD’s agreement. “Well, I’m
going to get some more things packed. I just wanted to call and
check on ya before we leave.”
“Thanks, Jin,” CD replied. “And thanks for staying during the
surgery, it means a lot to me.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Jinny responded.
CD grinned. “Okay, have fun in LA then!”
“I will, and Teddy and I will be by the hospital before we skip
town.”
“Sounds great. Bye!”
“Bye.”
CD hung up the phone.
“How’s Jinny?” Nate asked.
“She’s great. Her and Teddy are leaving for the weekend, and
she wanted to make sure I was doing okay before they left.”
“That was nice of her,” Nate replied as he stroked her hair.
She nodded. “Yeah, and she asked what to get Christina and
Isiah for Christmas. Which brings me to a good point-- what are WE
going to get them?”
Nate smiled. “Good point, we need to be getting on that!”
CD agreed. “Yeah, but I don’t know when I’ll be able to help.
The doctor said after I get out of her in a couple of days that I’m
supposed to be resting for a week or so at home. That doesn’t leave
me with a lot of time,” she replied sadly.
“Don’t worry about it, CD, I’ll take care of the shopping this
year,” Nate decided.
CD grinned. “I guess you’re going to have to, but I could wrap
the gifts after you get them.”
Nate nodded. “Sounds like a plan to me.”
“You want to start now?” she asked him.
“You trying to get rid of me?” he asked her slyly.
“No, of course not!” she exclaimed. “I just thought, since we
don’t’ have the kids....”
“Yeah, I’ll start now,” he replied.
“Okay, we’ll need a plan,” she stated and pointed at her purse.
“Could you hand me that?”
He did, and she pulled out her notepad she used on cases and
tore out some paper. “We’ll make a list of ideas for the kids, and
could you get me stuff for Kate and Jin?”
“Sure, sweety, sounds like a great idea.”
She grinned, and they both started naming off ideas for their
kids. They got to Jinny’s name. “Hmm, you wanna go to Victoria’s
Secret for me?” she asked him devilishly.
Nate stuttered. “Um, well, I guess I could, but.....”
CD laughed. “I’m just kidding, baby, you don’t need to pick up
anything sexy for Jinny to wear.”
Nate drew in a sigh of relief. “Thank God because I’d go in
there, look around, picture you in what I was looking at, and then
I’d have to find the closest bathroom to get rid of a problem!”
CD laughed. “We don’t need any of that, Nate, but could you
handle a gift certificate and some lotion from there?”
He smiled. “Yeah, I could manage that.”
She nodded and wrote ‘$20 gift cert. and Lovespell from V.
Secret.’
“What should I get Cap?” he asked her.
“I was thinking a gift certificate from there, too.”
“EW!” Nate exclaimed. “It’s one thing to get one for a friend the
same age as us, but our BOSS?! And our kids’ grandma? That’s just
weird!”
CD laughed. “Nate, Louis is probably pissed at us for cutting
into his alone time with his Katie. They’ll need a little something to,
well, ya know..”
Nate grimace. “Yeah, I know,” he muttered as she wrote down
the same request by Kate’s name.
“Okay, can you handle all of that?”
“Sure,” he muttered. “Anything else to embarrass me?
Tampons? Midol?”
She smiled. “Wow, you read my mind! Yes, I need some Extra
Heavy....” she started.
“Ha ha, very funny, I’m NOT getting those!” he exclaimed.
“I was just kidding!” she laughed. “That’s all I need, what’s on
this list, and you can do it right? I mean, Kate could go shopping
for us if we needed her to, and I could grab a gift for her once I’m
better.....”
Nate shook his head. “No, I can handle it, sweety,” he replied
as he kissed the top of her head. “I’ll get started today and hide it
all in our closet, so we can wrap it once you get out of the hospital.”
CD nodded and pulled out some money from her purse. “Here,
add this to yours, and we can come up with a pretty nice stash.”
Nate smiled and accepted the money. He put on his coat and
kissed her. “I’ll be back in a couple of hours, sweety.”
She grinned and puckered up for another kiss and got what
she was asking for. “Okay, baby, take your time, I’ll still be here.”
He smiled. “’Kay, love ya!”
“Love you more,” she replied.
“Ha ha, I love you the most!” he responded, and they both
laughed as he kissed her again and left the room.

CD was released 2 days later, and Nate had brought her home
Saturday afternoon. He had the Christmas tree and some
decorations up, to her surprise, when he walked her into the living
room.
“Nate, this place looks great!” CD exclaimed.
Nate beamed. “Thank you, the three of us did do a fantastic
job if I do say so myself.”
CD laughed. “Yes, it’s excellent.”
Isiah and Christina were quietly watching a movie, and CD
joined them on the couch. The four of them enjoyed it together for
awhile until the phone rang.
CD budged, but Nate stopped her from getting up. “No, you’re
supposed to be resting, I’ll get it.”
CD smiled at his protectiveness and let him go.
Nate came back in the room about 5 minutes later with his
coat on and his keys in hand. “CD, baby, I’m really sorry, but I have
to go to work. Raina called in sick, and they need someone to cover
for her. I’ll get Jinny to come over and stay with you just in case
you....”
CD smiled. “Nate, we’ll be fine, you go ahead. The three of us
will finish this movie, and I’ll order out or something.”
He kissed her. “You sure?”
She nodded and kissed him back. “Positive, now go!”
He grinned and ran out the door.


Nate got in that night at almost 1 in the morning. CD was
sound asleep in bed when he quietly snuggled in next to her. He
reeked up freshly applied aftershave and immediately woke CD up.
CD frowned. “Nate?” she murmured. “What time is it?” she
asked as she tried to focus her eyes.
“It’s late, sweety, go to sleep.”
“I would if I could, but that aftershave is pretty strong,” she
muttered and scooted away from him.
He blushed in the darkness. “I’m sorry, I’ll go take a shower,”
he replied and jumped out of bed. He turned on the light to the
adjoining bathroom, and CD turned to ask him a question.
She completely forgot it once she saw him. “Uh, Nate? Weren’t
you wearing something else when you left?” she asked him.
He looked down at his clothes. “No, I, uh, was well, uh, wearing
this when I, uh, left.”
She shook off the fear in her head, nodded, and rolled back
over pretending to go to sleep.


For the next couple of weeks as Christmas approached, Nate was
gone more and more. Every night there was some kind of overtime he
had to perform. “CD, Kate needs me on surveillance for a case, I
can’t help it,” he would always reply.
One night when Nate was gone, dinner was done, and Isiah
was grumpy. He missed his Grandma Katie, so CD agreed to a phone
call. She dialed the number and let him talk. Him and Kate carried
on a short conversation, and then he submitted the phone to his
mom, promising to get ready for bed.
CD was in a bad mood and smarted off to Kate, “So when in
the hell’s this surveillance going to be over?”
Kate’s eyebrows wrinkled up. “What are you talking about,
CD?”
“All of this overtime Nate’s putting in is bull****! It’s almost
Christmas, I’m still weak, and I could use a little help out of that
man around here! Why do you make him work all the time?”
Kate frowned. “CD, I don’t know what you’re talking about.
Nate’s not on my overtime card. He leaves at precisely 5 o’clock every
day, saying how he has to get home.”
CD thought for a second in confusion. “Oh, I’m sorry to have
yelled at you, Cap, I guess I was mistaken.” With that comment she
hung up the phone.
“What the hell was that?” Kate wondered aloud.
“What the hell is this?” CD thought to herself as she prepared to
wait for Nate to get home.

At a little after 2, Nate swaggered through the door. CD was
angrily sitting in the recliner with a fleece blanket wrapped around
her.
Nate had a fresh scent to him, probably because of his newly
applied clothes, deodorant, and aftershave.
“Where in the hell have you been?” CD asked hotly as soon as
he came into the room.
“CD!” Nate exclaimed as she scared the heck out of him. “Why
are you still up?”
“Why were you still out?” she muttered and stood up.
“I was working, CD, I told you, Kate needs....”
“Save that Kate ****! I talked to Kate today, and she said that
you’re not on her payroll after 5. And by the look at your clean
clothes and good scent, I have another question for you.”
“What’s that?” Nate asked guiltily.
“Well, it’s not a question of what you were doing,” she started
as she tried to hide a little tear in the corner of her eye. “It’s a
question of who are you doing.”

ok, i know it looks like this whole page is just going to be me writing, lol, but i AM hoping for some feedback!! haha, i know everyone's doing stuff for the holidays, but this part is Christmas, so I thought i needed to post it today!! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

“CD, what the hell are you talking about? I’m not doing anyone!”
“Bull****, Nate, I remember the signs, you’re not fooling me,”
she replied and kissed him bitterly on the cheek. “Goodnight,” she
said and added, “sleep on the couch tonight, you’re not wanted in
our room.”
Nate stared dumbfoundedly at her as he watched her walk up
the stairs and into the room they shared. He sighed as he sat down
on the couch and cried.


The next morning CD awoke to the absolute silence of her
house. She thought that that was too weird, so she went downstairs to
the kitchen. There was a note that had her name on it, and she read
it.
‘CD- I asked for the day off, so the kids and I wanted to give
you a morning to yourself. We’re at the park, if you need anything,
call my cell. Love, Nate
P.S. About last night-- don’t jump to conclusions. I love you,
and it’s ridiculous that you thought those terrible things. You are my
world, and you’re the only person I’ll share myself with for the rest of
my life. I’ll explain when we get back, please don’t be mad for all of
the late nights. Again, I love you.’

She read the note 6 or 7 times before throwing it in the trash
and making herself breakfast. She pondered the note, hoping that it
was true. She just couldn’t see herself surviving another failed
marriage. This one also had strings attached. She decided to go out
for a walk to clear her mind and wait for her family to come back.

An hour later she got back home, and Nate was there by
himself. “Merry Christmas Eve!” he announced as he displayed some
mistletoe over the two of them.
“Where are the kids?” CD asked in a monotone voice.
“At Jinny’s,” he replied. “We needed to talk, so I asked her, and
she said....”
“Fine, what are we talking about?” CD muttered.
“Dammit, CD, stop acting like that!” Nate exclaimed. “I’m not
the kind of person you’re giving me credit for, so please let me
explain before you kill me.”
CD sighed. “Fine, explain yourself.”
Nate nodded. “Alright, I really wanted to wait until Christmas
morning to do this, but since I married an Inspector, I should’ve
known it was coming. As you know I’ve been staying out late and
coming home in different clothes.”
CD added, “Yes, and lying about your whereabouts.”
Nate grinned. “Yes, that, too,” he replied. “I HAVE been working
overtime, just not for the Division.” he stopped when CD gave him a
confused look. “Teddy found me a job at a strip club as a nighttime
security worker.”
CD shook her head. “Okay, that’s the dumbest lie I’ve ever
heard of!”
He put a finger to her lips. “Let me finish,” he said. “They’ve
been shorthanded, and I wanted the extra money with Christmas
coming up and hospital bills.....”
“Nate, my insurance pays a great deal of my bills, and as soon
as I make it back to work, I’ll pay the bill myself! We have plenty of
money for Christmas, too, we didn’t need you taking on more work
to satisfy us.”
“Ya see, I didn’t want to tell you because you’d just tell me that
I was dumb for doing it.” He pulled out a box. “Well, I’m not,” he
simply stated. “Last night was my last night of doing it, I cashed my
check, and bought the one thing I was saving up to buy for
Christmas.”
CD’s mind was guessing now. “What is it?”
He smiled. “It’s for you, you should open it.”
She started to protest. “Nate, I don’t need......”
“Don’t start with that either,” he replied. “I NEED you to have
it. It symbolizes my love for you,” he murmured and blushed.
She grinned and took the small box from his hand. She quickly
unwrapped it and opened it up. “Oh my gosh, Nate, it’s beautiful!”
she exclaimed.
“Can I put it on you?” he asked.
She grinned, blushing just like her husband had earlier done.
“I’d be honored if you would.”
He smiled radiantly as he slipped a beautiful ring onto her
right hand. It was a white gold ring that contained each of the
kids’ birthstones, Nate’s birthstone, and her own. The band was
studded with diamonds and looked extremely expensive.
“Nate, I can’t accept this, I haven’t got to go shopping, only
once, so I don’t have anything that compares to this to give to you!”
she replied sadly, as tears streamed down her face from both
happiness and sad.
He smiled and brushed her tears away with little kisses. “You’ve
already given me my present that amounts to this.” He kissed her
again when she looked at him completely clueless. “You’ve given me
a family, CD. You’ve given me you,” he blushed again. “You’ve given
me a reason for living.”
“Oh, Nate,” she replied as she cuddled into his arms. “I love
you,” she whispered against his chest.
“I love you, too.”
“Can we go to bed?” she urgently asked him.
“Uh sure,” he replied slowly. “You tired?” he asked her.
She shook her head. “No,” she devilishly smirked. “I need to
formally thank you for this ring.”
He giggled like a boy in high school as he followed her upstairs
to their bedroom that he had missed the night before.

ok, i know it's the day AFTER Christmas now, but this fic wouldn't make sense if I jumped from Christmas Eve to like, February! lol, so here's some more, and thanks everyone for all the great compliments!!! :)

That evening, Nate and CD were on the couch, “watching” TV
together. Actually, they still couldn’t keep their hands to themselves,
so they were just using the couch as another bed. CD was laughing
and rolling around with her husband, when the doorbell rang.
“Dammit,” she murmured as she spun out from underneath
Nate, looking for her shirt.
“I’ll second that,” Nate grumbled, “I wasn’t finished with you.”
CD grinned. “What do ya say, we lock our bedroom door after
the kids go to bed?” she replied and winked at him as she smoothed
her clothes down to go answer the door.
Nate drew in a breath as he checked out his wife as she greeted
Jinny and the kids. “That woman drives me crazy,” he muttered to
himself and joined the others.
“Mommy!” Christina exclaimed.
Isiah added. “I haven’t seen you all day! Daddy took us to the
park, and he pushed us in the swing. Aunt Jinny took us to see Elf!
And Aunt Jinny and Uncle Teddy give us those!” he shouted as Jinny
held up 2 huge shopping bags.
CD’s eyebrow raised. “And what’s all of that?”
“Christmas presents!” Isiah explained. “Look at all of them that
we got, Mommy!”
CD shook her head. “Aunt Jinny, are you spoiling me
children?” she asked her slyly.
Jinny grinned. “Maybe just a little,” she replied, and they all
laughed. “But I really need to get going, Teddy’s expecting me back
soon.”
Nate smiled. “Thank you for watching them today.”
She nodded. “Anytime,” she said and added, “Everything ok
now?”
CD grinned and put her arm around her husband.
“Everything’s perfect,” she told her friend.
Jinny smiled. “Good.”
Nate nodded. “It sure is,” he paused. “Okay, well, we’ll let ya
go. You’re still coming over for lunch tomorrow, right?”
“Yep, we’ll be here around 11.”
“Sounds great!” CD exclaimed, and they all said their good-
byes.
The kids displayed their gifts in the living room, and their
parents oohed and ahhhed over them before telling their owners to
get ready for bed.
Isiah ran up the stairs to change, while Nate carried his baby
girl up the steps. CD looked on and grinned, while she sat the kids’
gifts from their aunt and uncle away from the tree, so Santa could
come.

The next morning CD and Nate were curled together in their
bed sleeping soundly. Isiah ran in with his little sister in hand and
yelled, “MOMMY! DADDY! WAKE UP, SANTA CAME!!”
CD stirred and grinned when she opened her eyes and saw her
pleading kids. Nate was still trying to sleep, so she shook him.
“Daddy, wake up, Santa came.”
“Five more minutes,” he mumbled.
CD grinned and gestured something to the kids. On a count of
3, the kids and CD attacked Nate by tickling him, and Isiah jumped
on top of him.
“Okay, I’m up, I’m up!” Nate exclaimed through laughs. “I
surrender!”
“Yay!!” Isiah exclaimed and jumped back onto the ground.
“Aaaa!” Christina added, slid off the bed, and took her
brother’s hand.
“Let’s go see what we got,” CD replied as her and Nate climbed
out of bed.
The kids ran downstairs and sat by their gifts while Mommy
took pictures. Finally, CD separated the presents into piles, since
neither kid was old enough to read, and they went to town.
Isiah and Christina were shouting out in delight, and Nate
and CD were opening gifts that they’d gotten each other.

About an hour later, they were done with gifts and their
stockings. CD had started lunch, Nate had started clean up, and the
kids had started their naps in the piles of wrapping paper.

yes i'm back, lol, b/c i wanted to post this now. I'm leaving in a few to go shopping, and then i have a Christmas dinner tonight, so I wanted this post on here NOW to get all of you thinking! ;)

The doorbell rang an hour later, waking up Isiah. He ran to
the front door with Mom and Dad in tote right behind him. “Who is
it, who is it?” he asked them.
CD grinned. “I don’t know, baby, let’s open the door.”
Nate opened it, and greeted their guest.
“GRANDMA!!” Isiah shouted and hugged her.
Kate smiled and handed 3 gigantic bags to Nate, so she could
pick her little grandson up. “Well, hello, Isiah!” she exclaimed. “Was
Santa good to you?”
He nodded. “Come into the living room and see what I got!”
She put him back down on the ground. “Sounds great, but I
have to get my part of our lunch out of my car still! I’ll get it, and
then I promise I’ll look at all of your gifts, okay?”
Isiah nodded and ran back into the living room to wake up
his sister while Kate went back out to her car.
“Are all of these the kids’, too?” Nate asked, glancing through
the bags.
CD laughed. “I’d say so, given the source.”
Kate came back in with 2 crockpots stacked on top of each
other and 2 more shopping bags were slung on her wrist.
“Kate!” CD exclaimed. “Are you moving in or what? What’s with
all the shopping bags?”
Kate grinned. “What do you think?”
Nate shook his head. “Cap, are those ALL the kids’ gifts?”
Kate laughed. “Of course they are! I was going to get them
more, but after my credit card ran out......”
“Kate! You maxed out your credit card?!” CD exclaimed.
“CD, I’m just kidding! I just got what I thought my grandkids
would like.”
CD shook her head but smiled. “You’re a great Grandma,” she
replied as Nate took the crockpots and took them into the kitchen.
CD hugged her “Mom” and sat the bags from her hands to the pile.
“Well, I, uh, actually have to go back outside for a second....”
Kate stuttered.
“Why?” CD asked her accusingly. “You’d better not tell me you
have more gifts out there.”
Kate blushed. “Maybe a couple more,” she murmured.
CD shook her head. “Cap! Those kids do NOT...”
“Hey, only one more bag out there is their’s!” Kate defended
herself. “I also have a bag of yours and Nate’s, and a couple of
things for Jin and Teddy.”
CD grinned. “You’re an amazing person, you know that?”
As she opened the front door to leave again, Kate replied, “Of
course I know that!” she responded and shut the door behind her.
CD smiled and went into the kitchen to continue her cooking.
Nate helped Kate with the door, and then Grandma went into the
living room to inspect the kids’ gifts.

Jinny and Teddy arrived soon after, and the seven of them sat
down for their Christmas lunch. Isiah said the prayer, and then they
dug in. CD showed off her ring to everyone, and Nate blushed with
embarrassment.
“Nate, the gentleman!” Kate exclaimed. “I’m impressed!”
“You’ve got great taste, Nate!” Jinny added.
“You’re puttin me to shame!” Teddy exclaimed, and everyone
laughed.
“Sorry, buddy, I’ll never do it again.”
“HEY!” CD proclaimed and everyone laughed again.

The conversation came to a standstill a couple of minutes
later, and Jinny gave a glance to Teddy. He saw and acknowledged
it.
“Uh, guys, I have something to tell all of you,” Jinny said as all
eyes turned to her.

“Uh, guys, I have something to tell all of you,” Jinny said as all eyes
turned to her.
CD was the first brave one to speak. “What is it, Jin?”
She laughed nervously. “Well, should I break the ice with a joke
first or dive right in?”
Everyone laughed, and Nate replied, “There’s the joke, so tell
us!”
Teddy grabbed Jinny’s hand as she started to talk. “Teddy and
I found out yesterday, on Christmas Eve, that we’re going to be
parents.”
“Oh my gosh, that’s great, Jin! ” CD exclaimed and ran over to
her friend to hug her. “I’m so happy for the two of you!” she replied
joyously as she kissed Teddy on the cheek.
Kate did the same thing, while Nate hugged Jinny and then
shook his best friend’s hand.
Isiah spoke up. “Aunt Jinny, will I be old enough to hold the
baby when it comes?” he asked hopefully.
Jinny grinned. “Of course, sport, and you can teach the baby
everything you know, alright?”
Isiah smiled from ear to ear. “Okay, thanks Aunt Jinny!”
“Wow, that’s so amazing, Jin,” Kate replied as they all resumed
their seats.
“Yeah, we didn’t even know you were trying!” Nate proclaimed.
Teddy smiled. “Well, it wasn’t EXACTLY planned, but you know,
once we found out, we couldn’t have been happier!”
CD smirked. “So does this mean that you need to baby sit my
kids more to get some experience?”
Jinny laughed. “Sure, CD, those two are great, we’ll watch them
whenever you want us to.”
Everyone finished their meals, and then the kids ran into the
living room to open all of their gifts from Jinny, Teddy, and Kate.
The adults sat admiringly on the couches and overlooked the happy
kids, and then they opened the gifts they got each other.
“Oooo,” Jinny replied and grinned when she opened her gift
certificate and lotion from Nate and CD. “CD, you know the way to
my heart!” she exclaimed and turned to Teddy. “Or to his heart.”
CD laughed. “Actually, I had the idea, but Nate here was the
one who picked it up for me. I was in the hospital or recovering, so
Nate did my shopping.”
Kate laughed when she opened hers. “Nate, you even got one
for your BOSS?! That’s a little twisted!” she joked.
“I KNOW!” Nate exclaimed. “I told her I thought it was weird!”
Everyone laughed and continued unwrapping.

A couple of hours later the mess was cleaned up, the dishes were
put away, the guests were gone, and the kids had fallen asleep. CD
took Isiah to his bed, while Nate took Christina to hers. CD went
straight to their bedroom after that, changed quickly, and
practically leapt into bed from exhaustion. Nate soon came in and
did the same. She immediately snuggled into him.
“Merry Christmas, sweety,” she whispered and kissed him good
night.
“Same to you, baby,” he replied and kissed her back. “I love
you.”
“I love you, too,” she said as she yawned and started to doze.
Nate laid there for a bit before he got up the courage to ask
her. “CD?” he said. “Can I ask you something?”
“Sure,” she murmured, trying to keep her eyes opened.
“I’m being serious, so don’t start laughing, ok?”
She grinned and looked up at him, into his eyes. “Okay, Nate,
what is it?”
“I, uh, I wanna know what you, uh, think about, well...”
CD was exasperated. “Nate, just say it!”
“Sorry,” Nate grumbled and sighed. “Okay, I want to know
what you think about us trying for another, uh, baby.”
CD’s eyes widened. “You want me pregnant again?”
He nodded. “I miss it, CD. I miss taking care of a little baby,
nurturing it, playing with it.”
CD sighed. “Nate, I don’t know. The last time I was pregnant, I
was all by myself, and I don’t want to......”
“You won’t be by yourself this time, sweety,” he pleaded. “I’m
not leaving your side.”
“Nate, I’m getting older, and I don’t want to be one of those
moms who’s in a store or something, and someone comes up and
says, ‘Aw, your grandchild is so cute!’. I want to be able to do things
with the kid, and ...”
Nate smiled. “Baby, you’re not THAT old! Will you at least
consider it?”
CD sighed. “Nate, what brought this on? Teddy and Jin?”
“Well, sort of,” he explained. “I’ve been thinking about it
forever, but I just thought you’d think I was stupid for saying it, and
then they said their news, and well, here I am, apparently annoying
you.”
She smiled. “Nate, you’re not annoying me. Scaring me a little
maybe, but not annoying.”
“Scaring you?” he asked.
She nodded. “Yeah, because now,” she paused to kiss him, “I’m
considering the same thing.”
“You mean you want to?!” he exclaimed.
“Nate, calm down,” she replied. “I think it would be alright if
we tried, but not go out of our way. I mean, when we, uh, make love
or whatever, we just won’t use anything. But I don’t want the sex to
get so stressful because we’re trying our hardest to make a baby but
don’t have fun anymore.”
He grinned. “Baby, I could never not have fun with you.”
She smiled. “Thanks for the compliment, but I just wanted to
make that clear.”
“It’s clear, sweety,” Nate announced to her and smirked. “Can
we try tonight? Or ya know, have unprotected sex that’s really fun
but not stressful and hope we made a baby?”
She laughed. “If you stop making fun of me,” she said as she
kissed him lovingly.
“Never,” he replied into her mouth as he took her down a road
of excitement for the ENTIRE night.

The next day at work, CD and Nate were giggling and talking about
different things when Raina and Magda walked in.
“What the hell is that?” Magda muttered.
“Aw, I think it’s adorable!” Raina exclaimed.
Magda made a wrenching face. “I think it’s ridiculous. They’re
married; they shouldn’t be acting like that.”
Jinny had walked in behind the two and replied under her
breath, “You’re married; look how you act.”
Magda turned around. “What did you say?”
Jinny grinned. “I said good morning you two, and I have
some news for ya.”
“What is it?” Raina asked excitedly.
Jinny smiled as she took a seat at her desk. “Well, Teddy and I
found out something a couple of days ago.”
Magda rolled her eyes. “Oh my God, you’re pregnant, aren’t
you?”
Jinny, although a little hurt, continued, “Yes, actually I am.”
“Congratulations, Jin!” Raina shouted and gave her a hug.
CD and Nate stopped goofing off and looked over at the
excitement to smile.
“Did the two of you forget your birth control one night or
what? I mean, you haven’t even been married THAT long.....”
Jinny’s eyes teared up. “Thanks for the encouragement, Mag,”
she replied and ran off to the bathroom.
CD noticed Jinny’s quick exit and went over to the other 2
women. “What the hell happened?” she asked hotly.
Raina pointed at Magda and announced, “Why don’t you ask
her big mouth?”
CD shook her head and followed Jinny’s trail to the bathroom.
Jinny was sitting on the countertop, crying.
CD smiled and hugged her friend. “Hey, what’s going on?”
“Magda’s, <<sob>> making fun of my <<cry>> baby!” Jinny
screamed and held onto CD. “I hate her!”
CD grinned. “Don’t we all, sweety?”
Jinny smiled a little through her tears. “Why does she have to
be like that? She makes everyone think her life’s perfect when it’s
obviously not.” She started to cry again.
“Jin, don’t you worry about her. She’s just jealous. She wants
what you have, honey, because you’re so happy.” CD paused to turn
her friend’s chin up, so they were looking eye to eye. “Actually, I need
to be thanking you.”
Jinny gave CD a confused look. “For what, CD? You need me to
watch the kids or something?”
CD laughed. “No, not today,” she replied. “I need to thank you
for your announcement because Nate and I are now.....”
“Oh my gosh, CD, are the two of you trying to have another
baby?!” Jinny exclaimed.
CD grinned. “Yeah, what do you think about that?”

Jin laughed again. “Hello, CD, of course I don’t think you’re
too old! We’re almost the same age, and you just had a baby, what, a
year ago? What’s the difference?”
CD smiled. “I guess that’s true.”
Jinny hugged her again. “This is so great! I’m really excited
now!”
CD nodded. “Me, too!”
Jin crawled off the countertop. “Thanks for checking on me,”
she replied as CD stood up, too.
“Anytime,” CD said as they opened the door. “Hey, you want me
to work with Mag today? I don’t want her saying more crap to you or
anything, so I could....”
Jinny grinned and interrupted. “No, it’s alright. If you and
Mag were partners, she’d be dead by the end of the day, wouldn’t
she?”
CD smirked. “Weeell,” she started, and they both laughed as
they rejoined their friends by their desks.

Nate handed CD a folder once she got back to her desk.
“Robbery/homicide, baby, let’s go,” he replied, and CD smiled at him
and followed.
Magda shook her head. “They need to act professional.”
Raina rolled her eyes. “Come on, Mag, they are professional,
but they’re also in love! They can say things like that if they want; I
mean, CD and Nate have the highest clearance rate at this
division!”
Jinny nodded. “Yeah, we need to be taking pointers from
them.”
“Yeah, whatever,” Magda replied and walked away to go grab
a cup of coffee.
“What’s up with her?” Jinny asked Raina. “PMS or a bad night in the
sack?”
Raina giggled. “I think a little of both.”

After Nate and CD investigated the crime scene, they filled out
some papers and went to Anchorside for a quick bite.
CD sat quietly eating while gazing at her husband.
Everytime Nate looked up, CD was staring at him, grinning.
“What’s with you?” he asked and smiled back.
She took his hand. “You look very attractive today, have I told
you that already?”
Nate smirked. “No, you haven’t, but I figured you were
thinking something like that.”
She laughed. “You’re sure of yourself, aren’t ya?”
Nate grinned. “Well, I have this boyish charm about me that
has always driven the ladies wild.”
She shook her head as Nate paid the bill. They got up to leave
when she replied back, “Always, huh?” she whispered into his ear and
slipped her hand into his as they walked back to the Division.
He grinned and kissed her cheek. “Yep,” he simply stated as
they entered the bullpen.
Kate was talking to Magda and Jinny, while Raina was on the
phone.
CD announced rather loudly, “Hey Nate, we’ve got a witness in
the interrogation room. We’d better start with the questioning.” she
winked at him.
“We do?” Nate asked her, puzzled.
CD jabbed him in the ribs. “Yeah, REMEMBER?”
“Oh, yeah, THAT witness,” Nate replied, still confused.
CD led Nate into the only interrogation room without a
doublesided mirror. She kissed him passionately as soon as she got
the door closed behind them.
Nate responded but quickly pulled back. “Baby, where’s the
witness?”
“You’re so out of it sometimes, Nate,” CD retorted but quickly
captured his mouth again.
“CD, I don’t want the witness walking in on us,” Nate whined.
CD sighed. “So much for fun sex,” she muttered as she pushed a
chair up against the door. “There, now no one can get in. There’s no
witness, I just wanted some alone time with my husband; ya got a
problem with that?”
Nate smiled. “Oh, I get it now,” he said as he moved her to the
desk.
They quickly undressed each other, and CD giggled from the
anticipation of what was next to come.
About an hour later, Nate and CD were still making out in the
interrogation room when someone knocked at the door.
“CD? Nate? You guys still talking to someone?” Raina asked.
CD grinned. “Uh, no, Raina, we’re done now. We’re just going
over some paperwork.”
“Yeah, and it’s a pretty intense and rough assignment, let me
tell ya,” Nate replied.
“Oh, okay, well the cap wants to see you two when you’re done.”
“Okay, thanks Raina,” CD called out, and Raina left. “Rough
and intense, huh?”
Nate grinned and kissed her forehead. “Uh huh, just how I like
it.”
“There’s plenty more where that came from,” CD announced as
she stood up to find her clothes. “Just not right now.”
He nodded and got up as well. “Yep, duty calls.”
She grinned and walked behind him, so she could check him
out.
CD and Nate knocked on Kate’s door to come in. She
acknowledged them with a wave to come in. They did so and had a
seat while she finished her phonecall.
“Okay, brief me on the robbery/homicide you encountered
today.”
“Well, apparently two men, each about 6’2, Caucasian, and
around 200 pounds, robbed the 7-11 on 12th Street. They escaped in
a black Trans Am, tinted windows. A witness got a partial plate, and
we’re waiting for the BMV to get back to us. One of the men shot the
cashier at the gas station, and he died immediately.” CD explained
to her captain.
“We’re waiting on the autopsy reports, and the BMV will be back
to us by 9 am tomorrow.”
Kate nodded. “Well, looks like you’ve got everything under
control.” She glanced at her watch. “It’s almost 4, why don’t the two
of you get outta here?”
CD’s eyebrow raised. “Really, Cap?” she asked excitedly.
Kate nodded. “Sure, nice job today,” she paused and smirked.
“The baby-sitter’s not expecting you for 2 more hours, so why don’t
you go home and settle the score? Instead of occupying my
interrogation rooms.”

Yeah, read that already, and it was quite hilarious!! lol. But thius story was soooooooo sweet! Post more. CD and Nate both blushed. “Um, well, uh, Cap,” CD stuttered.
Kate shook her head. “That’s all I needed, you can go now.”
They practically ran out of the room, due to their
embarrassment and pure lust for each other.

They were clearly running over each other as they opened the
front door to their house. Nate carried her in and immediately
stopped in the living room.
“You’re too heavy for me to take you all the way upstairs,” he
murmured against her ear as he began to kiss.
“Thanks for the compliment,” she muttered but let him lay her
down on the couch.
Hours later they were still going at it like a high school couple
when the phone rang. “Dammit,” CD grumbled as she picked up the
phone. “Basso,” she replied into the receiver.
“Um, CD?” a voice asked.
“Yeah, who is this?” she asked, a little ill-tempered.
“This is Paulene, your babysitter, and I was just wondering
when you were coming to pick your kids up.”
CD looked at her watch, and it read 8:15. “Oh, ****!” she
exclaimed. “I mean, I’m very sorry, and I’ll be there as soon as I
can.” She hung up the phone and got out from underneath Nate.
“What’s going on?” he asked her.
“We forgot our children,” she muttered as she looked for her
clothes, which were thrown under the couch.
He looked at the clock. “Oh my gosh! How’d the time pass so
quickly?”
She smiled. “Well, I’d show ya, but we’re already two hours
late.”
He grinned. “Okay, you wanna go get them, and I’ll stay
here?”
She nodded. “Sure,” she replied and kissed him good-bye.

CD got to the baby-sitter’s in a rush. “I’m so sorry,” was the first
words that went out of her mouth.
Paulene just smiled. “It’s okay, CD, things come up,” she said as
she let her in. “Christina fell asleep about an hour ago, and Isiah
fell asleep about 10 minutes ago. I fed them dinner already, so you
don’t have to worry about anything like that.”
CD nodded. “Thank you so much,” she replied as she took Isiah
into her arms.
“It’s not a problem,” Paulene said as she followed CD out to her
car, carrying little Christina.
After the kids were safely buckled in, CD confirmed, “So
tomorrow then?”
Paulene nodded. “Yes, and what time will you be here?” she
joked.
CD smiled. “I’ll be here by 6, I promise.”
Paulene laughed as CD drove away. “Promises, promises.”

When CD parked the car outside, Nate was immediately outside to
help her bring in the kids. He carried Isiah, while this time CD
carried in her littlest child. They put them gently in their beds and
quietly snuck off to their own bedroom.
Nate opened the door with a beaming glow to his face. CD
quizzically glanced at him, but she soon found out why he was so
happy. Candles had been lit, leading into their joint master bath.
They made a path around the jacuzzi tub, and a bubble bath had
been drawn.
“And what’s all of this?” CD smirked as Nate put his arms
around her.
“It’s a ‘damn you smell, take a bath’ gesture,” he joked and
kissed the top of her nose.
She drew herself back, pretending to be offended. “Why, Nate
Basso, you’re such an ass!”
He laughed. “Oh come on, wifey, I’m just playing with ya,” he
paused as unbuttoned her blouse for the third time that day.
“In that case,” she replied, as she slipped his shirt off, “don’t
ever call me ‘wifey’ again.”
He laughed as he took her slacks as well as her undergarments
off in record time. She grabbed at his jeans and pulled them off as
well. He laid her into the hot water, and she groaned due to the
warmth from the bath and from her husband.
Nate kissed her, forcefully and romantically, while his hands
roamed to her lower body.
“Naaaaaaate,” she called out as he touched her in ways she’d
only dreamt about.
He smiled and massaged her inner thighs with his forefingers.
She groaned, and her hands went down south to give him equally
soothing pleasure.
“Oh, baby,” he shouted as he looked her straight in the eyes to
make sure she was ready.
She simply nodded, he entered her blissfully, and
automatically, they became one.
He thrust himself into her, and she arched her back, begging
for more. She called out his name, and he grabbed on to her as they
came together, and then simultaneously collapsed on one another.
CD laid there for awhile, looking at her husband while he
kissed her body. “Nate,” she whispered.
He looked up at her.
“Let’s go to bed,” she pleaded to him.
“Already? I thought we could...”
“We can, I just want to do it in bed now.”
He grinned, stood up and helped his lover out of the tub. He
grabbed a towel for himself and then rubbed her down with one as
well. He tied it very loosely around her, as she asked him, “Do you
think you can make it to our bed this time, or am I still too heavy?”
He smiled as he silently picked her up and threw her over his
shoulder.
She was laughing when he tossed her onto the bed and quickly
removed the little knot from her towel.
“That didn’t last long,” she joked as he got her completely
naked again.
“Long enough,” he murmured against her skin as he began to
take her once more.
There was a knock at the door, and CD and Nate barely had
time to crawl under the covers before Isiah walked in. His cheeks
were streaked with tears. “Mommy, I had a bad dream,” he replied
as he began to cry again.
CD’s heart reached out to her little boy. “Okay, baby, go back to
bed, and I’ll be there in a second.”
He nodded but looked around before leaving. “Why are all of
those lited up?” he asked as he pointed to the candles.
“Uh, well,” CD started.
“We wanted to save money by not turning on the lights,” Nate
replied.
“Oh,” Isiah nodded and left the room to wait for his mommy.
CD quickly dressed and kissed Nate before leaving the room.
“That was a dumb, answer, Nate,” she replied and laughed at his
sad face.
“Hey, it was the only thing I could think of!” he exclaimed.
She shook her head. “You’re a dork,” she joked and left the
room to tend to her son.

the door. CD quickly sat down beside him and hugged him close to

soothingly as she smoothed his hair down.
Isiah shook his head no. “It’s too scary, Mommy.”
She nodded. “Okay, baby, I understand. You want me to stay
in here tonight?”
He looked at her pleadingly. “Can I stay in your room tonight
with you and Daddy?”
CD grinned, knowing she could never say no to that look. “Sure
you can, sweety. Get your blanket and teddy bear, and we’ll go
surprise Daddy.”
Isiah smiled as he collected his belongings, and then his mom
carried him into her room.
She slowly opened the door to her bedroom, hoping Nate would
have the audacity to get clothed once she left. He was sitting on top
of the blankets in his boxers when his wife and son came through the
door.
Nate grinned. “And what’s this?” he asked teasingly.
“Mommy said I could sleep in here tonight!” Isiah exclaimed.
“Is that okay with you, Daddy?”
“You promise not to kick?” Nate asked, again joking with his
son.
Isiah nodded. “I promise, Daddy.”
Nate smiled and moved over to his side of the bed, so Isiah
could fit in the middle. CD snuggled in on her side, and the three of
them said good night.

ok, so i always hate posting more after only 1 or 2 replies, but i'm just so darn happy right now, i thought i'd just write ya more!! I thought last night was like the greatest night ever-- i went to a Pacers game with my best guy friend (the ticket, dinner, shopping, the works was all taken care for me ;) ), a fight broke out and we sat by the funniest drunk woman that i'd ever seen in my life!! But then I wake up today, and I'm talking to the sweetest girl in the world, which it's been weeks, and now i'm pretty damn sure life doesn't get much better than this! So, since no one gives a damn about all that crap i just BLURTED out, here's what everyone wants!!! :)

Bright and early, 5 am, CD woke up to the cries from Christina’s baby
monitor. She stirred and decided to get up. She looked over at her
son, who had a foot jabbed into Nate’s side, which made her smile.
She quickly walked into Christina’s room, and she saw her
baby standing up, reaching out for her mommy.
“What’s the matter, baby?” CD soothingly talked to Christina.
Christina shrieked hysterically until CD’s smooth touch slowly
subsided her cries. Goos and baby talk replaced the unhappiness of
the little girl as she began to ‘talk’ to her mother.
“Really?” CD replied as she hugged her.
The two of them carried on a conversation, while CD walked
into the kitchen to start breakfast. She put Christina in her punkin
seat and let her bounce around in it, while CD turned on the skillet
and started some scrambled eggs.
Nate and Isiah came in the room 15 minutes later, both
rubbing their eyes.
Nate walked over to CD and put his arms around her. “Good
mornin’, good lookin’,” he replied as he kissed her cheek.
She grinned and turned to him. “Good morning to you, too,
sleepyhead,” she said as she kissed him back, right on the lips.
“EW!” Isiah exclaimed as he giggled hysterically.
Christina laughed as well. “Ewwweeeeeeeeee!!” she responded.
“What, you’ve never seen your parents kiss?” Nate teased Isiah.
Isiah nodded. “All the time, Daddy, and that’s gross!”
CD laughed. “Yeah, Daddy is kind of gross, isn’t he?!”
“Hey!” Nate exclaimed. “Who’s side are you on?”
Isiah giggled. He loved when his parents were like this. Not the
kissing, but the play fighting; however, it always ended up in more
yucky kissing.
“I’m on the side that wins,” CD announced.
“I win!” Isiah exclaimed.
“Then I’m on that team!” CD proclaimed as she pointed to
Isiah.
“That’s not fair!” Nate shouted as he began to tickle CD.
“Stop!” she screamed as he got her to the floor. “Isiah, help me!”
Isiah giggled as he ran to tackle his daddy. “I’m coming,
Mommy!”
Nate turned his attack towards his son as soon as he came
near enough to be picked up. He tickled him until he yelled ‘mercy,’
and CD went back to finishing breakfast. It was a typical morning
in the Basso household.

Almost an entire month went by and still no pregnancy. CD and
Nate were doing it like animals every chance they got. At home as
soon as they woke up, at work whenever they got a free room or stall,
and every night before they fell asleep. CD took a couple of
pregnancy tests, but they were always negative. She was becoming
weary and Nate was pent-up and holding all of his frustrations
inside, while he smothered CD and the kids.
One night CD was rocking Christina in the glider in her
nursery when Nate walked in.
“Isiah’s asleep,” he stated.
She nodded. “This one is close,” she replied as Christina’s eyes
were drooping.
“You want me to go turn down the bed then?”
CD rolled her eyes. “Sure,” she muttered as she continued to
rock her.
Nate left and went to their room. He knew she was getting
bored having sex all the time, and it was turning out to be a little
stressful for them. He wanted her to enjoy it as much as he still did,
so he stripped the bed, put on the satin sheets and laid out her best
lingerie.
CD soon came in about 10 minutes later, and Nate was lying
on the bed in her favorite pair of boxers.
CD looked around. “What’s all of this?” she asked him.
Nate blushed. “Just a little change to our every day rituals.” He
held up the lingerie. “Here ya go, I thought you’d like this.”
CD rolled her eyes and took the lingerie out of his hands,
throwing it to the floor. “I don’t need that,” she replied and crawled
into bed. “Let’s just do this.”
He looked at her sadly. “CD, I don’t want...”
CD sighed and started unbuttoning her shirt and jeans. “Nate,
we don’t need to talk, let’s just get it over with.”
“But CD!”
She kissed him roughly to shut him up, and he put his ideas of
a romantic night on hold and decided to just take her.
He put her on the bottom and started to kiss her body. He was
circling around her belly button with his tongue when she
murmured, “Nate, go already.”
He decided that maybe she was soon to come, so he entered
her. He yelled out in pleasure, and she just kind of layed there with
the expression, ‘Are we done yet?’
“Baby, I’m sure you’re close,” he said against her skin as he
kissed her lips.
“It doesn’t matter, just keep going,” she replied unenthused.
He decided it was going to be rough to make her happy, too,
but he figured he’d give it his best shot.
He arched her back for her and penetrated further. He massaged her
breasts and kissed them. She moved some and held on to him, but
nothing happened.
“CD, you’re not enjoying this are you?” he asked her in between
pleasure groans of his own.
“Nate, it doesn’t matter; the job’s getting done, that’s all that
matters.”
Nate finished his orgasm, and they finally came to a halt. She
rolled him off of her and scooted to her side of the bed.
“Night,” she mumured as she tried to fall asleep.
“CD, please,” he begged her. “Please talk to me.”
She turned to face him. “What do we need to talk about?” she
asked him, confused.
“CD, this is too much! You don’t even enjoy the thing that we do
best anymore!” he exclaimed. “Maybe this baby idea was a bad one.
If you can’t even find it pleasureable, then what’s the point of
actually having sex?”
“The point is to make a damn baby!” CD exploded. “That’s all
that matters. It doesn’t matter if I’m into it or not, just as long as
you can get it up and in,” she replied furiously and turned back on
her side. “So goodnight.”

arm around her.
She responded by snuggling close to him. “So what do we do?”
“Do you still want another baby?” he asked his wife very
seriously.
She nodded. “More than anything, baby,” she replied. “I’m just
annoyed and almost bored! I mean, why can’t we do this? It wasn’t
this hard the first two times!”
He grinned. “I know, and it was a lot more fun, wasn’t it?”
She smiled, remembering their sex before they had their
children. Not a whole lot had changed but recently. “It sure was,”
she said. “Seriously, though, do you think something’s wrong with
me or you? We’re just not up to par.”
He nodded. “You think we should go see a doctor or
something? One of those fertilization doctors?”
She looked at him, surprised. “You’d be willing to go see a
doctor?”
“Yes, of course, if it meant I could get a baby and stop making
MY baby bored!”
She grinned. “Wow, most men would’ve said ‘Hell no, get me a
beer, woman.’”
He laughed. “I thought you knew I wasn’t like that?” he teased
her.
“I know,” she replied. “So should I make an appointment in the
morning?”
He nodded. “Yeah, tell them to make it as soon as possible, we
need it,” he said as he kissed her intently on the lips. He pulled back
but decided to continue. His hands roamed under the sheets and his
tongue came out in her mouth.
CD shook her head and pulled away. “No, Nate,” she replied. “I
don’t want to.”
He nodded, understanding but hurt, “I understand, baby,” he
said and put his arm around her. “Good night, CD.”
“Night,” she replied and moved away from the arm to her side
of the bed.

The next morning, CD woke up refreshed and feeling a little better.
She placed a call and lucked out. Someone had canceled their 1:30
appointment, so the receptionist offered it to CD. She gladly accepted
and went and told Nate the good news.
He was happy, too. After they dropped the kids off, they went to
their jobs at the Division. They went straight to Kate’s office and
asked for the day off. She knew she didn’t have a choice, so she gave
the okay.
After they left Kate muttered, “For once I’d like to see those two
finish an entire week of work. If it’s not sickness, it’s sex,” she shook
her head and grinned.
Nate and CD followed up on their high profile homicide and did
other odds and ends paperwork. At noon they left for, lunch and
then went straight to the fertilization doctor. They got in quickly to
see Dr. Johannson, and he immediately started asking questions.
Nate’s ears got red as he had to answer questions about himself
first.
“Nate, are you having problems getting an erection?” Dr.
Johannson asked.
CD stifled a giggle, while Nate elbowed her in the ribs. “No, Dr.,
nothing like that.”
CD smiled. “Doctor, we don’t have problem with sex, we have
problems with getting pregnant.”
He nodded. “I understand, CD, I have to ask the basic
questions first, just to get to know the two of you.”
She rolled her eyes. “Let’s see, we have sex 3 times almost every
day, hoping we’ll pick the right time of the day and month for me to
get pregnant. I’m actually sick of sex, Doctor! That’s how bad it’s
getting! We’ve been trying this way for over a month, and absolutely
nothing has happened!” she exclaimed.
“CD, calm down, I’ve had couples in here before with the same
problem, I’m sure we can make this right.”
She nodded and took Nate’s hand, just to calm herself down.
Doctor Johannson glanced at Nate’s medical file. “No illnesses
or surgeries since you’re last baby, Nate?”
Nate shook his head no, so the doc moved on to CD’s file. He
frowned when he looked at hers. “CD, you’ve had a recent illness?” he
asked her.
She nodded. “Yes, Doc, I had breast cancer, and they removed
the lumps.”
“Radiation? Chemotherapy?” he asked her.
“Radiation,” she replied.
He nodded. “That’s probably your problem then.”
“What is?” she asked him.
“The radiation can sometimes kill the eggs before they can be
released, and it makes a woman become harder to impregnate.”
CD sighed. “I had a feeling it was my fault,” she replied.
“CD, no need to blame yourself, we can take care of this.” He
handed both of them a pamphlet. “Look at your different options here.”
“Fertilization drugs?” Nate asked.
The doctor nodded. “Yes, I prescribe them to my patients, each one of
them is pretty specific to each case. I can start you on these, CD,” he
said as he pointed to a bottle, “as soon as today.”
CD looked up. “Don’t these drugs cause multiple births
usually?”
The doctor looked at his stats. “Depends,” he replied. “Usually
on the type of pill I put you on, but the one I put you on would be a
lower risk. You’re chances of having a multiple birth would be
around 35- 40%.”
“35-40%?!” CD and Nate exclaimed at the same time.
“I’m sorry, baby, but maybe this isn’t such a good idea,” Nate
announced to CD. “I mean, I really want another kid, but I don’t
know if I could handle more than one!”
CD nodded. “Yeah, and you know those awful stories about
families having 5 or 6 kids at a time? I’d go insane!” CD turned to
the professional. “Doctor, I’ve just had another child a little over a
year ago. I don’t need more than one more to take care of. I
appreciate you time, but I don’t think we’re interested,” CD replied,
and her and Nate stood up to leave.

to give you pills; there are other natural ways, but they’re just not as
effective.”
“We’ll take any information you can give us,” Nate told him.
Doctor Johannson nodded. “Alright, well, one of the easiest
things we can do is give you an ovulation monitor. It tells you when
it’s the best times for you to get pregnant,” he explained and carried
on in detail.
CD and Nate sat silently and listened, while the doctor
finished telling them about that monitor and several other choices.
“Could we try an ovulation monitor?” she asked the doctor
after he was completely done with his lecture.
“Of course you can, CD, and I can set you up with that today,”
he replied and handed them brochures about the gadget. “Now
when this machine says that ovulation point isn’t close, you’re not
forced to have sex. Now the two of you can hopefully enjoy it more!”
he said, and CD and Nate laughed.
“We’ll try,” CD replied but knew he was right.
Nate grinned. “So when it says that it’s probable?” he asked.
The doctor grinned. “Go at it like animals,” he simply stated
and let them out of the office.

CD grinned at that comment while Nate was footing the bill and
walking her outside. Then she frowned. “I’m sorry I caused all of this
crap,” she replied. “And don’t say it’s not my fault because it clearly
is.”
Nate shook his head. “Don’t give me that, and I’ll say whatever
I want to! This is not your fault, don’t say that bull to me! Baby,
you’ve tried so hard to make a baby for us. We both have. It’s neither
one of our faults. Let’s just try this and hope it works.”
She nodded. “So these extra days when I’m not ovulating, what
are you planning on doing?” she teased him.
He laughed. “Well, I’m figuring on giving you a couple of days
of relaxation from me, unless you’re ovulating now, and then I plan
on coming right back to where I left off,” he replied and kissed her.
She giggled, happy to be touched by him again. She sighed. “I
can live with that I guess. Those highly sexual days will go by
quickly, and then I can go back to my normal routine of being on
my side of the bed.”
“You better not!” Nate laughed as they walked out to the
parking lot. “Three days tops before you’re begging to get back into
these arms!”
CD giggled and kissed him softly. “I’m not taking that bet!” she
exclaimed. “I’d have to say two days tops!”
Nate laughed. “Good!” he said as he picked her up and twirled
her in the air.
“Nate, stop!” she shouted as she laughed shyly. “You’re
embarrassing me!”
He put her down but not before he kissed her once more. “You’re
making me the happiest man in the world,” he replied as he opened
the door for her.
“Why, thank you,” she said as she got in and waited for him to
walk around.
Her lips were waiting for him as soon as he turned his head
after shutting his door.
He responded, and after she finally pulled away for air, he
replied, “We should’ve seen that doctor sooner! I think you might
actually like me again!”
She grinned and kissed him again. “Yeah, a little,” she joked
and turned to put on her seatbelt as he turned on the car to leave.
“I’ll take what I can get!”
CD smiled, and as he was driving them home, she kept kissing
him. His cheek, his ears, even his lips whenever they hit a red light.
“Baby, you’re driving me crazy,” he mumbled as he responded
to a kiss during one of their stops.
“What, you're saying you don’t like it?” she teased him.
He grinned. “It’s not that, I just don’t want to run over
somebody and my only defense will be that my gorgeous wife
couldn’t keep her hands off of me!”
She laughed and stopped kissing him. “Okay, no more,” she
agreed. “I’ll start a new game.”
He groaned. “Oh no, what?”
She smirked and leaned in close to him. “Instead of touching
you and kissing you, I’ll just tell you what I’m thinking about. Ya
know, my thoughts!”
He nodded. “Sounds great, you don’t open up nearly as often
as I want you to.”
She agreed. “I know, so I’m going to tell you everything I’m
thinking about right now,” she replied as she started whispering
against his ear. “I can’t stop thinking about how great it would be if
you stopped the car right this very second.”
Nate looked at her confused. “Huh?” he asked.
She grinned. “There’s nothing I’d like more than rip your
clothes off and take you in the back seat and give you the best sex
you’ve ever had.”
Nate stared at her dumbfounded, and she turned his eyes back
onto the road.
“Since we can’t do that, I’ll just tell you HOW we’d do it if we
could,” she explained as she went into full detail about positions, soft
spots, and what she promised to put on as soon as they got home.
Nate had never hit so many pot holes or driven off the road so
many times in his life. He was surprised, however, when he saw the
flashing red and blue lights behind him.
“Dammit,” he muttered as the cop pulled him over.
CD groaned.
“Baby, what am I gonna do?” Nate asked her and pointed to
his pants.
She stifled a giggle, "Flash a little thigh, it'll get you out of a ticket!" she joked, but found her coat in the backseat. “Here,
put this on your lap, and hope for the best.”
He nodded as the officer came up to the window and replied,
“License and registration.”
Nate pulled out his wallet, while CD got out the papers. Nate
conspicuously flashed his badge while getting out his license.
“Are you a police officer, too?” the rookie asked Nate, slightly
timid.
Nate nodded. “Yeah, actually I’m an Inspector, but I had to
take my lovely wife to the doctor today, and I was just trying to take
her home.”
The officer swallowed. He knew what it would look like if he
had to give an Inspector a ticket. “So you’re not drunk?” he asked
Nate. “By the looks of your driving, you looked to be intoxicated.”
Nate smiled. “I can assure you I’m definitely not drunk, but
you can give me a breathalyzer if you’d feel....”
“No, it’s fine, have a nice day,” the officer replied and ran
back to his car.
Nate looked at CD as the cop pulled away from them. “You
almost got me in trouble!” he exclaimed.
CD rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah,” she said, giggling as Nate got
back onto the road. “So where were we?” she asked seductively and
kissed his ear.
“CD!” he proclaimed as he teasingly shoved her face away from
his.

McDonald’s, so CD set up her little monitor, and she found out it
wasn’t one of the highly possible days to get pregnant.
“So now what?” Nate asked her urgently, hoping for his go
ahead.
She smirked. “Natey, I don’t want to waste my energy on a
non-pregnant day! I’ll say it for a later date,” she teased him.
“CCCCCDDDDDDDD,” Nate whined as she slugged him.
“Shut up, ya baby,” she muttered and kissed his cheek. “I’m
hungry right now anyway,” she announced and walked into the
kitchen.
He grinned and followed. “How about I make you something,
and you go get the bed ready?” he asked.
She rolled her eyes. “I though we were cutting back on this; we
were going to be stress-free, am I not correct?”
“You’re right,” Nate grumbled. “I just thought, in the car, ya
know, you kind of......”
“Turned you on?” she laughed and patted his package.
He blushed. “Well....yeah,” he replied and put his arms around
her to kiss her straight on target.
“You’re such a baby sometimes,” CD said as she started to
unbuttoned his shirt. “We wax the kitchen floor and then you’ll
make me dinner?” she asked him.
He nodded hungrily, but not for food. “Deal,” he murmured
and stripped her shirt off, forgetting to actually unbutton it. He
practically threw her body down on the linoleum.
“Oww!” she exclaimed as she paused to rub her back.
“Sorry,” he muttered. “I’ll rub it all better later,” he replied as
he captured her mouth again.

Jinny and Teddy came by an hour later to drop off the kids
and visit. CD and Nate were seated at the table eating rotini and
meatballs, specially prepared by Nate.
CD greeted and seated them at the table. Isiah went upstairs to
play with his toys, and Christina was placed in her swing, so the
adults could talk.
“You guys want any?” Nate asked and pointed to the food.
Teddy shook his head. “No thanks, that McDonald’s was
excellent,” he joked and rubbed his belly.
CD laughed. “Okay, you want something to drink then?”
Jinny nodded. “I would love some milk if you have some,” she
replied, and CD nodded. The two of them went to the kitchen to get
her some, and Teddy wanted a glass of tea, so they got that, too.
After they returned, CD told Jin and Teddy what the doctor
said.
Jinny congratulated and encouraged them. “That’s great,
guys!” she exclaimed and rubbed her belly. “Hurry it up, so you can
join me!”
CD grinned. “We’re trying, let me tell ya!”
Teddy laughed. “PLEASE don’t tell us!” he replied, and they all
laughed.
They talked for awhile longer, and then Teddy and Jin left.
Christina was asleep in her swing, but Isiah was still wake when they
walked in his room.
CD grinned. “And what are you doing?” she asked him.
Isiah looked up. “Hi, Mommy, hi Daddy!” he exclaimed and
scoot himself and his toys over on his bed. “Do you want to play with
me?”
Nate grinned. “Well, I don’t know about Mommy, but I know I
do!” he announced and took a seat to Isiah’s left, while CD went
right.
“I want to play, too!” she said and picked up one of the
action figures. “What are we playing?”
“Soldiers,” Isiah replied matter of factly. “I played this every
day when you were fighting,” Isiah told Nate.
Nate’s face became troubled. “Really?” he asked his little boy
gratefully. “I’m glad you remembered me then, Isiah.”
Isiah nodded. “Of course I did, Daddy!” he exclaimed. “I
always played with them, and you were always on my team,” he
paused to pick up the biggest soldier. “This one is you, and you
always won.”

Isiah nodded. “Of course I did, Daddy!” he exclaimed. “I always
played with them, and you were always on my team,” he paused to
pick up the biggest soldier. “This one is you, and you always won.”
CD glanced at Nate, and she could see a tear in his eye. He
looked up at her, and she gave him an encouraging wink.
Nate tried to joke off his sudden rush of emotion. “Of course I
always won, kiddo!” he replied but gave his little son a hug.
CD smiled and joined in on the hug.
The three of them played soldiers for awhile, until CD
announced it was bedtime.
“Nooooooo,” Nate and Isiah groaned at the same time.
Nate tried to convince her otherwise. “Mommy, we’re not done
yet!” he replied. “Ten more minutes?” he pleaded.
She grinned but shook her head. “Sorry, son, but you need your
rest!” she laughed and patted the top of Nate’s head. “Maybe you can
stay up a little later tomorrow, since it’s Friday.”
Nate beamed and hugged her. “Thanks Mom, you’re the best!”
he exclaimed.
Isiah giggled. “Daddy, you’re weird!” he laughed again.
Nate pretended to be shocked. “Isiah, how rude!” he teased.
“And I’ll show you weird!” he shouted as he threw his son on the bed
and tickled him.
“Daddy, Daddy, stop!!!” Isiah giggled uncontrollably until
Nate stopped.
CD smiled and left the room, so her son could have some alone
time with his daddy. She went into Christina’s room to check on her.
She was sleeping soundly, and after awhile of staring at her little
baby sleep, she went into her bedroom where Nate was already in.
“Hey baby, no more tickling?” she teased him.
He grinned and walked over to her. “Well, no more for the
little one,” he replied and grabbed a hold of her. He threw her on
the bed and started to tickle her.
“Nate, stop!” CD exclaimed as she tried to break free. “I mean
it, stop!” she giggled as he pinned her down.
“I’ve got her now!” he announced as he bent down to claim her
mouth.
“Nate, I...” CD was interrupted with one of the greatest kisses of
her life, so she surrendered to it and kissed back.
After forever they needed a breath. “I knew you wouldn’t mind
that tickling,” Nate teased her.
CD grinned. “Who said I didn’t mind it?” she asked him. “I just
liked what came after it,” she replied and kissed him briefly once
again.
“So, uh, what are we doing tonight?” he asked her slyly.
CD groaned. “Nate, don’t start,” she said and kissed his cheek.
“You’ve had enough of me for tonight, I’m tired, and I would really
like to get some sleep.”
Nate nodded. “I understand, baby, I was just checking to make
sure I couldn’t get lucky one more time tonight.”
She laughed. “Always looking for another notch in your belt,
aren’t ya?” she teased him.
He nodded. “Of course!! As long as it’s from my favorite woman
in the world!” he exclaimed, and he let her kiss him once more,
knowing he’d won her over for another night of passion.

Saturday rolled around, and Nate and CD had decided to take
their kids to the beach. Kate and Louis were meeting them for lunch
at a little oceanside cafe, so the four of them got there early to play
before eating.
Isiah and Christina both wanted to play in the water, so Nate
went so far out with him, until Isiah’s knees came to the level of the
water, and they splashed around.
Christina was so anxious to touch the water that she kept
kicking her mom in the ribs, so she could be lifted down closer to the
water. CD bent down, holding on to her, and took Christina’s hand
and ran it through the water.
Christina gooed at the feeling and then laughed in
excitement.
CD grinned. “You like the way that feels?” she asked her.
“Ahba ya,” Christina replied.
CD shook her head. She didn’t like to pronounce very many
words yet, so she just made sounds in their place. She always knew
what her mom and dad were saying though.
CD walked closer to the shore, so Christina could stand in the
water by herself.
“Aaaaa!” Christina giggled and jumped up and down in the
water.
CD bent down beside her and ran her hands through the
water. “You ready to go back to the sand?” she asked.
Christina’s response was a splash of water in her mom’s face.
“Christina!” CD joked and picked her up. “What do you think
you’re doing?!”
Christina giggled and clung to her.
“Oh, NOW, you want to be my buddy again,” CD teased.
Christina planted a kiss on her. “Tina lubs Mommy,” she said
matter of factly.
CD grinned and kissed her back. “Mommy loves Christina
forever and ever,” she replied as they walked back to the beach.
Nate and Isiah came back up to where their stuff was awhile
later. “Hey, you two, whatcha doin?” he asked his favorite ladies,
who were playing in the sand.
“Well, I was trying to build a sand castle, but SOMEONE thinks
it’s funny to try and make sand angels in the middle of it!” she
exclaimed and shook her head at Christina.
Christina giggled and ran to her dad. He picked her up,
brushing the sand off of her body.
“Are you being mean to Mommy?” he interrogated his little
girl.
Christina repeated, “Mean to Mommy,” and laughed again.
CD shook her head. “That girl IS mean to me!” she exclaimed.
Nate kissed her head. “You’re alright, aren’t ya?”
Christina smiled. “I alwight,” she said and pointed to be put
back down.
Nate put her down, and the two kids decided to make a
sandcastle. Isiah stayed at one end and actually built one, while
Christina took the bucket, put sand in it, and then threw the blob
into a big pile she was making, and called that her castle.
Nate and CD sat beside the castles on a towel. CD was sitting in
his lap, and Nate had his arms around her.
“This is perfect,” he murmured against her neck and then
kissed it.
She nodded. “It sure is,” she replied.
“You look amazing, did I tell you that?” he asked her seriously
and brushed his hand along her extensive leg.
CD blushed. She was wearing a pink tankini and before she left
the house, she hadn’t known if it was too much or not , but now she
got her answer. “Thanks Nate,” she said and interlaced her fingers
with his. “I don’t think this day could get much better,” she replied.
Her day was perfectly planned: they had made love that
morning, got the kids ready, came to the Pacific, and after lunch,
CD and Nate were staying in an oceanfront hotel, while Kate took
the kids to her house for the night and a circus in the morning.
“It COULD get better,” Nate hinted.
“What do you mean?” she asked him.
“I mean, who knows? We could have the most amazing night
tonight,” he winked at her. “Maybe we could even make our baby
tonight; the possibilities are endless!” he excitedly exclaimed to her.
She smiled. “Maybe we will; maybe tonight’s the night,” she
agreed and kissed him passionately, while their kids yelled, “Yucky!!”
at the top of their lungs.

Noon came quickly, and before they knew it, the Basso family was
meeting Kate and Louis at Martin’s Place.
Kate had already ordered a glass of water for herself and a
Coke for Louis when the kids ran through the doors and
immediately embraced their grandma.
“Grandma Katie!” Isiah exclaimed and sat on her lap.
Kate kissed his cheek and put Christina on her other knee.
“Hello, honey, how are you?” she asked him.
“I’m great! Daddy took me out into the water and I standed
all by myself! Christina needed Mommy to hold her hand though,”
he explained while Christina played with Kate’s hair. “Then I made
a castle, Grandma! It was cool and better than Christina’s.”
“Isiah, that’s not very nice!” CD told him. “Christina’s was
good, too, don’t make fun of it.”
Isiah rolled his eyes and whispered into Kate’s ear, “I don’t
think Mommy saw them because she was too busy kissing Daddy,” he
explained, and Kate laughed.
“What did he say?” CD asked her.
Isiah looked at Kate pleadingly. “He said that he’s ready for
something to drink,” she told CD, who shook her head. Kate looked
at the menu. “What do you want to drink, honey?”
Isiah smiled, knowing his secret was safe with her. “I want a
milkshake!” he announced.
“Mill lake!” Christina agreed.
Nate laughed and turned to the waiter. “We’re going to need
two chocolate mill lakes please,” he told him, and the waiter smiled.

After lunch, the six of them decided to go back down to the
beach. Louis and Nate took the kids back out in the water, and CD
and Kate stayed up on the sand.
“Big night tonight?” Kate teased her.
CD grinned. “Sure is,” she replied. “The monitor said that
today is one of my days,” she explained.
Kate nodded. “I figured,” she remarked. “Which hotel are you
staying at?”
CD pointed to a beautiful hotel. “Holiday Inn,” she replied.
“It’s pretty nice, and we don’t need any of the extras like at the
expensive motels.”
Kate agreed. “Yeah, as long as you got a bed, you’re set, aren’t
ya?” she joked.
CD shook her head. “Hell, Cap, I don’t even need a bed,” she
replied, and they both laughed.
CD stared off into space for a bit, watching her kids giggle and
splash in the water. She observed Nate and his excitement just to be
with his kids.
CD turned to face her friend. “Kate, can I ask you a question?”

should be with him,” she tried to explain.
“You don’t owe him anything,” CD remarked. “You just don’t
seem happy with him. Like, when I’m at work and see you, I see the
real Kate McCafferty. When you’re around my kids, I see her, but
when the two of you are together, I just see a woman who looks to be
unhappy.”
Kate smiled. “Thanks for wondering, CD, but I’m fine, really,
and I don’t think I want to talk about it anymore.”
CD nodded. “Alright, I’m sorry I brought it up.”
“Don’t be,” Kate murmured as the guys and Christina ran out
of the water. “Because I AM that unhappy woman you see when I’m
with him. I just don’t know how to be alone again,” she whispered,
because their conversation was stopped when Louis came up and
kissed Kate, and Nate kissed the top of CD’s head.

That night Nate was trying his hardest to make CD a happy
woman, but she was acting like she didn’t care again.
“CD, did I do something wrong again?” he asked her as they
climbed out of the hot tub in their room.
CD didn’t answer; she was in a world of her own.
“CD?” he asked again and shook her a little.
CD looked up, and Nate was right in her face. “Huh, what?” she
asked and sighed. “Nate, I’m sorry, were you saying something?”
“Yeah, but are you alright?” he asked her, concerned.
She nodded. “I just got some things to think about.”
“Anything I can help with?"
She shook her head. “No, let’s not think about it right now,” she
replied and kissed him. “I’m back to normal,” she winked, “so let’s go
make a baby.”
He protested. “CD, what’s wrong though? Tell me, and then
we can do whatever you want.”
CD sighed. “Nate, I was thinking about a conversation I had
with Kate this afternoon, and I lost track of where I was and what I
was supposed to be doing.” She moved closer to him. “It’s not
important, you didn’t do anything wrong, so I’m ready,” she replied,
grinned and kissed him.
That was all Nate needed to hear for the rest of the night,
besides the occasional groan from his best friend's mouth or rattle from the headboard.

“Kate, come on,” Louis whined that night.
“Louis, I already said no, not while the kids are here,” she
replied with authority and turned her back to him.
“You always have an excuse,” he muttered as he shut off the
light.
Kate sighed. “Maybe it’s because I don’t want it from you
anymore,” she smarted off.
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” he asked angrily.
“Probably exactly what you think it means,” she grumbled as
she sat up and took her pillow in her hand. “I think I’m done with
this relationship, Louis. I don’t need it anymore. I’ve given you more
than enough, and we’re just not compatible. I’m sick of lying to you
and pretending,” she explained and stood up. “I’ll sleep on the
couch tonight, but I would really like it if you moved out.”
“MOVED OUT?!” Louis shouted. “Like hell I’m moving out, this is
my house too!” he screamed.
Indeed, him and Kate had lived in that house for the past 5
years together after her stroke, so he had helped with the payments,
and they even changed the title, where Louis was co-signed on it as
well.
“Louis, don’t shout, the kids are sleeping,” she whispered.
“I don’t give a ****, Kate! Where did all of this thinking come
from?!”
“Louis, calm down, CD and I were talking this afternoon...”
“What did that bitch say?!” he shouted. “What did she say that
made you look down on me? I wanna know, dammit!”
Kate shook her head. “Stop it, Louis, I’m not going to tell you
what was said, and that’s not the point. The point is that I’m finally
strong enough to stand up to you and say that I’m not interested in
this relationship anymore.”
“Fine, you stupid bitch, have it your way,” he grumbled. “But
you can damn well bet that YOU’LL be moving out after my
attorney’s hear from me."

Late morning rolled around, and Nate and CD checked them
out one minute before their time was up. They had had such an
exhausting night that they’d overslept.
On the drive back to the city, CD called Kate’s house to warn
them of their arrival.
Louis answered, and when he recognized CD’s voice he
mumbled, “They’re not here, they’re probably at your damn house,
bitch,” he replied and hung up on her.
CD looked at the phone after she hung up.
“What’s wrong?” Nate asked her.
CD punched in a different number. “Louis is a little cranky this
morning,” was all she said and waited for Kate to answer at their
house.
“Hello?”
“Hey Kate, it’s me,” CD said. “What’s going on?”
“Oh, nothing, the kids and I decided to come back to your
place to wait for you.”
CD nodded. “That’s fine. Is everything alright?” she worriedly
asked.
“No,” Kate simply stated. “No, it’s not, but we’ll worry about
that later,” she replied and stood up. “I have lunch to make for the
troops, so I’m gonna let you go. Are you going to be here for lunch?”
“No no, don’t worry about us!” CD exclaimed. “When we get
there, Nate can fix me something,” she teased and winked at Nate.
“I’ll let you go though, so the kids can bother you like crazy.”
Kate laughed. “Sounds like a plan,” she replied, and they both
hung up.
“Honey, can you go a lil faster?” CD asked him.
He looked at her. “Why, what’s wrong?”
“Kate seemed upset, Louis was an ass to me, and now she’s
mysteriously at our house.”
He nodded. “Okay, I’ll get us there asap,” he replied.
Twenty minutes later they pulled into their drive way. CD ran
through the doors, while Nate stayed back to get the luggage.
“MOMMY!” Isiah shouted and ran into her arms as soon as she
opened the door.
“Hi baby!” she exclaimed and kissed him. “How’s my favorite
little guy ever?” she asked him as she wiped her mouth from his kiss.
“Good! Grandma made us peanut butter and jelly!” he shouted.
CD laughed. “I figured that one out the hard way,” she teased
him.
Kate came in, holding Christina.
“Moooooommmmmmmyyyyyyyyy!!” Christina yelled and
squirmed out of Kate’s arms.
CD smiled and went to Christina. “Hi honey!” she said and
switched kids with Kate.
Nate knocked at the door. His hands were full with all of their
luggage.
“Isiah, baby, can you get the door for Daddy?” CD asked him.
He nodded and ran to the door.
After more greetings, Kate and CD were finally alone in the
kitchen. Nate had put Isiah and Christina down for naps. He joined
them in one as well, so CD interrogated Kate.
“What’s wrong with Louis?” she asked. “And why did you have
to come here?”
Kate sighed. “I did it,” she announced sadly. “I told him it was
over.”
“You did?” CD asked her, surprised. “What happened?”
“We argued, I told him I wanted him out of my house, and he
threatened me. He told me that he was going to end up with the
house.”
“WHAT?! That ass!” CD exclaimed. “Don’t worry, we’ll call
Teddy and get this all settled.”
Kate shook her head. “No sweety, I don’t want to do that,” she
answered. “I don’t want a fight, I just want out. Can you help me
move my things out?”
“Of course I can, but you don’t have to move, Kate! We can get
him out of there!”
“No,” Kate replied again. “I don’t want to be in that house
anymore. There’s too much history now. Too much I don’t ever want
to remember.”
CD nodded, completely understanding. “Okay, we’ll get you
out of there as soon as possible. Today, even, if that’s what you want.”
Kate nodded. “Yes, I want out today, I’ve packed some things
already.”
“Where are you staying until you find a place?” CD questioned
her boss.
Kate shrugged. “Oh, I don’t know, I think I’ll just stay at a
little motel until I find something suitable.”
CD shook her head. “Like hell you will!” she shouted. “You’re
staying with us!”
Kate shook her head. “No CD, I don’t want to do that.”
“I don’t care, you’re staying!”
“I’ll be in the way,” Kate protested.
“Um, obviously not!” CD told her. “Kate, seriously, we want you
here. The kids NEED you here. It’s the smartest choice!”
Kate grinned. “So if I stay here you can promise me that you’ll
be on time every day for work because I’ll know everything about
what’s going on.”
CD laughed. “I can promise all you want, but I’m also
promising that I will more than likely have to break that promise,”
she replied and smiled sweetly.
Kate laughed. “Well, at least you’re honest!” she said and
asked her, “So you wouldn’t mind if I stay for awhile? I’ll find
something as fast as possible.”
“Of course it’s okay!” CD exclaimed. “And take your time, the
more you’re here the better!” she told her and Kate beamed. “Ya
know, we could always use a live-in baby-sitter!” she teased her.

Kate nodded. “Sounds great, but what are the kids going to do
while we pack and load?”
CD shrugged. “I don’t know, I’m sure Raina or someone
wouln’t mind,” she replied and went upstairs with some luggage.
She threw it on the bed and went to Christina’s room to find
Nate and Isiah curled up on the floor fast asleep. She shook Nate
awake, and he mumbled, “What?” as he sat up.
“Come here,” she whispered and pointed out the door.
He followed her. “What is it? Has Kate left already?” he asked
and kissed her.
She shook her head and explained the situation. “So will you
be okay with it?” she asked him.
“Of course, CD! We’d never let her stay in a motel!” he
exclaimed.
“Good, cause I called Raina, and she’s on her way over to stay
with the kids, while we move Kate out.”
Nate nodded and followed her downstairs.
Kate was sitting there with tear-streaked cheeks.
Nate hugged her. “I’m so sorry about all of this, Kate.”
She gave him a small smile. “Thanks, Nate,” she replied as
there was a knock on the door.
“I’ll get it,” CD announced and let Raina in.

When they got to the house, Louis was still there.
“Hello, Louis, we’ll only be a little bit,” CD replied and walked
past him.
“Like hell you will!” he shouted. “I want you out of here NOW!”
Nate shook his head. “We’ve got to get her stuff. You wanted the
house, Kate’s giving you the house. The papers will be filed Monday
morning,” he explained and Kate walked silently by him to go to her
room.
“Fine,” Louis muttered. “But I want to talk to CD then. Alone.”

Nate looked at CD, and she nodded. “It’s alright, go help Kate,
honey,” she told Nate, and he agreed.
She turned to him. “What is it, Louis?”
“Why did you tell her to dump me?”
“I didn’t tell her that, I told her I couldn’t picture her with you. She
made her own decision,” she explained.
“Bull ****!” he shouted and slapped her across the face. “You picked the wrong guy to mess with, bitch!”
CD’s hand went straight to her cheek in shock. “Did you just, just HIT me?!” she hissed. “You had NO right!”
“I had every right,” Louis sneered. “I’m a man, and I had to teach you who’s right,” he clarified. “Anymore questions?”
She got right in his face. “You’re one twisted ****er, ya know
that?” she criticized and pulled back to slug him.
He blocked her and hit her again, this time with his fist. She fell to the ground, and he figured he’d have an angry male cop on
his ass if was still out there, so he fled.
CD stayed on the ground for awhile but finally got up. Her cheek was blazing, but she knew Nate would be getting suspisious, so she went into Kate’s room.
Kate had packed up most of her clothes and they had moved on to cosmetics and the furniture that belonged to her.
Nate looked up when CD walked in and noticed CD’s
abnormally red face. Her right eye was watering. “Baby, are you
alright?” he asked her.
CD looked at him and smiled. “Yeah, Nate, of course I’m fine,” she reassured him.
Kate looked at her. “Oh my gosh,” she mumured and walked to her side. “CD, did he hurt you?” she asked and touched the redness.
“OW!” CD immediately responded but felt so bad. “No, Kate, he didn’t hurt me, I ran into something.”
Nate went to her other side. “CD!” he cried out. “What did he do to you?!”
“He hit me Nate, what does it look like he did?” CD angrily
responded.
He hugged her. “Baby, I’m so sorry,” he replied and kissed her. “I’ll be right back,” he said, kissed her again, and left the house to go find his target.
“Honey, I’m so sorry,” Kate told CD, hugged her, and started to
cry. “This is all my fault.”
“No, it’s not,” CD replied, but clung to her. “I’m fine, really, and it was his damn fault, Kate! Not yours! You did nothing wrong, don’t let him make you think that!”
Kate remained silent and held her closer.

Nate found Louis a couple of miles away in a fleeing car. He turned
on his lights to make him stop, but Louis quickened his pace. Nate
sped up as well, making sure the ******* didn’t get away.
Finally after a five minute chase, Louis gave up and pulled
over.
“She deserved it man!” was the first words out of his mouth.
“She’s a woman, you know how they are!”
Nate opened Louis’s door and pulled him out of the car,
shoving him up against it. “She deserved it?!” he shouted and
punched him in the gut. “Then I guess you deserved that!” he
screamed.
“Nate, don’t do this, I’ll never touch her again, either one of
them.”
“Damn right, you won’t!” Nate exclaimed and punched him
right across the face. “If I hear that you’ve even THOUGHT about
either one of my girls, then you will be picking dirt out of your teeth
for two weeks, ya got me?!” he shouted, hit his head up against the
door, and walked back to his vehicle.

CD ran to Nate the second he came back. “Nate, where’d you go?” she
asked him.
“I had some business to take care of, CD, but everthing’s okay
now,” he reassured her and wrapped his arms around her.
“Nate, what did you do it him?” she whispered, so Kate couldn’t
hear from the other room.
He shook his head. “Don’t worry about it, CD. He’s not going to
hurt you or Kate again, that’s all that matters,” he replied and
grabbed his hand. “I think I’m going to need some ice or something
though.” he grimaced.
She smiled as she looked at his swollen hand. “I bet he looks
just as bad,” she commented and went to the kitchen to make him a
bag of ice.
Nate grinned triumphantly. “Oh, he’s much worse I’m sure,” he
remarked and flexed his muscles. “Check this out baby, that’s what
he felt going right across his face.”
She laughed and handed him the ice. “Thank you, my night
in shining armor,” she teased him, rolling her eyes.
He picked her up and sat her on the countertop. He wrapped
his arms lazily around her middle and kissed her nose. “I’d do it
again in a hearbeat,” he promised her.
She nodded and placed his face in between her hands. “I know
you would, that’s why I love you so much.”
He grinned at the compliment. “I love you, too, Candace Basso.
More than anything.”
She kissed him once more and bounced off the counter. “Let’s
get Kate out of this place, and the five of us can go out to dinner,
and THEN..” she emphasized and winked, “we can put our three kids
to bed, while the night’s still young.”
“Sounds great to me!” Nate exclaimed, picked her up, and flew
her to the room Kate was in.

That night CD and Nate were in bed, the covers were thrown at
the bottom, and Nate’s head was lying in CD’s lap. She was
outstretched and watching the nightly news, while Nate played with
her belly.
“Why are you so fascinated with my stomach?” she asked him
quizzically.
He blushed. “I don’t know, does it annoy you?” he asked her
seriously.
She grinned. “Of course it doesn’t bother me!” she told him. “I
was just wondering.”
“I like the way your skin is so smooth there, and it’s just so soft.
All I want to do is massage it, kiss it........”
“Are we still talking about my belly,?” she teased him.
“Oh, you!” he exclaimed and jumped on top of her, crashing
his lips down on her.
She giggled as he pulled her tank top over her head. “And
what do you think you’re doing? I never said I wanted this tonight!”
she joked.
“But I wanna!” Nate whined.
She laughed. “Oh my gosh, Nate, that was the most childish
voice I’ve heard come out of your mouth!”
“I want you though,” he continued to whine.
She grinned and ran her hands down his middle. “Okay, baby,
I guess I can let ya,” she purred into mouth.
He excitedly and quickly moved his hands to her little shorts
and ripped them off. He massaged her through the material of her
satin panties before taking them off as well.
He was too fast for her, as he took his boxers off for her.
“Geez, are you ready, or are you ready?” she teased him as her
hands moved down to what she wanted.
He kissed her mouth, her neck, and rubbed the lower half of
her body. He worked his way from her ankles to her thighs where he
found her sweet spot, and she screamed out in pleasure.
“Naaaaaaaate,” she moaned. “Don’t mess with my mind, mess
with me!” she shouted as her hands massaged him in ways he’d
never dreamt of.
“Mmmmmmmmm,” was his response. He put his hands on her
hip bones and pleaded, “Will you do the pretzel?” he asked her as she
grinned.
She blushed and giggled nervously. “Anything for you,” she
shyly answered, as she assumed his favorite position. “How’s this
baby?” she sang into his mouth before he took over for the next two
hours.

Did you know that pretzels originate from Bavaria actually? Which is where I live :)

Cuddling and kissing later that night, CD turned to her lover.
“Baby, I still don’t understand why you like my flat, hard rock abs,”
she questioned and grinned.
He smiled. “There gorgeous, what else can I say?” he asked as
he reached under the covers to rub it again.
“Wouldn’t you like it if my belly was a little bigger? I mean,
look at it,” she threw the covers back and exposed her naked body.
“It needs something added to it.”
He nodded. “It sure does,” he answered and kissed it again. “It
needs me,” he grinned.
She laughed and pulled his head back up to eye level. “No, I
need that up here,” she said and kissed his cheek. “I just wanted to
warn you that I’m gaining some weight, Nate. I want to gain
weight.”
“Why would any woman want to gain weight?” he questioned
her motives.
She grinned and wrapped her arms around his neck. “It’s not
because I want to be bigger, it’s because I have to,” she answered
him, but he was still confused. “We did it, honey!” she told him
excitedly.
“What did we do?” he asked her.
She grinned and pulled him under the covers for another
rendouzvous. “We’ve got ourself another baby on the way,” she
replied sweetly and kissed his shocked face. “How about we try for
twins?” she teased him and brought him into her again, this time
for the rest of the night.

and this is how ya find out you're having twins ;)

HEY!! What is it make fun of Lisa YEAR?!!! :rolleyes: First w/ the YOGURT, now how to make a baby!! LOL, GEEZ!! j/j of course!!!! :p

and i ACTUALLY paid attention during a genetics class one day, and it's a proven fact that some twins are made from fertilizing 2 eggs at 2 different times!! So you could actually have 2 babies, twins, and they could have 2 different daddies! Or be created like 6 days apart or something. And I'm not crazy!! If u don't believe me, go to a Sam Rhine genetics conference! LOL

Months went by, and Kate had survived. She’d overcame Louis and
had even begun dating again.. She continued to live with the little
Basso family, much to CD’s happiness. CD prepared for motherhood
once again, and Nate walked around with his shoulders high. He
was so proud of his family, and he let everyone know it.
CD gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Jonathan Daniel Basso,
on April 23, 2004. Nate got to watch this one be born and got to clip
the cord. “I love yous” were spoken all day as the many visitors
walked through the doors to CD’s room.
Nate’s parents even came down and congratulated their son.
They wanted a relationship with him and his family. Nate and CD
decided to give them both a chance, so their other two kids spent the
night with their other grandparents.
Polly wasn’t notified, but the other “Grandma” was relieved of
her nanny duties for the night. Kate didn’t know what to do with
herself, so she ended up going back to the house and spending time
with the older Bassos and kids.
Nate kept CD company that night at the hospital. He crawled
into bed with her and snuggled up close to her. “You did great
today, CD,” he replied and kissed her hair.
“I know,” she agreed. “I’m just that damn good,” she joked and
kissed him back.
He grinned. “So when can I get in you and make another
baby?” he asked her.
She rolled her eyes. “Nate, I’m not a freaking baby dispenser!”
she exclaimed. “No more babies, I can’t take anymore of this pain!”
He grinned. “I was just kidding, grumpy!”
“You try squeezing something the size of a watermelon out of
your melon, and see how you feel!” she exclaimed to him as she
kissed him passionately. “And no more babies, but in a couple of
weeks, I’m all yours again,” she grinned and kissed him again.
“Can’t wait for that!” he told her as her eyes began to droop.
“Come here, baby,” he replied and let her bury her head into his
chest.
He held her close to him for the rest of the night, the rest of the
time while she was in the hospital, and for the rest of her life.

Awwww......I must say that I am sad to see this fic end! It was always so precious......I absolutely loved it, and THAT is how CD and Nate's life REALLY happens! ;) :D I so adored the last line, too.
