The scene where Kramer reads that Communist leaflet in the street with Mickey (who are both still in their Santa/Elf gear) is gold.

I saw the same episode last night. It was hysterical when Kramer tried talking in that phony foreign language to that girl.

Yeah . . . I'm not emotionally invested in them like I was in the late 1980-early 1990s, but it's nice to see the team turn around in the past few weeks. Coach Silas has made 2 GREAT trades in that time and has really purged the egomaniacs away from LeBron & Friends.

Plus, we got a 7 footer named Ruben Boumtje Boumtje (pronounced Boomshay Boomshay) although he's injured. The Cavs have a way of acquiring guys with unique names over the years:

- Ruben Boumtje Boumtje
- Bimbo Coles
- DeSagana Diop
- World B Free
- Bingo Smith
- There's more, but I'm sick and can't be bothered to think of any more.

sinatrastar, you follow the Bucks?

The TWolves are hot, how far can they go?

Dutabi84
01-28-2004, 11:19 PM
Well, this is definetly the year they get out of the first round. I'll jump off a cliff if they don't. If they can get out of the first round, I don't honestly think they can be stopped. Sam Cassell, the best point guard in the NBA this year has the playoff experience, and is shooting over 50%. Sprewell also has a lot of experience, and when Szczerbiak finally stops whining about his stupid toe, we'll have a deeper bench, too. I can only imagine the Lakers, and maybe the Kings causing them problems in the playoffs.

I've got 4 squares for the Super Bowl. 3 of them are long shots but I got the cherished 3 & 3 square. At $125/quarter, I could rake in $500, but I'll probably get the big zilcho.

Cavs/Bucks tonight . . . Don't look now but the Cavs have equaled their win total from last season . . . *cough*17*cough*

sinatrastar
01-30-2004, 07:15 PM
I dont have a square to spare!

I am in so many different pools I didnt really look at the numbers yet, but I think the biggest payoff is about $100 for the final score.

Well, it seemed like an interesting card w/ it being outside. I've got Warrior/Heenan, Savage/$$$, and Hogan/Andre. The actual video of the event is WAY too expensive for my blood on ebay. How was it live?

sinatrastar
02-03-2004, 11:37 PM
They all seemed great back then, the only events that sucked were when they would film episodes for the weekly shows, because back in the old days those shows always were a star against a bum, they saved the marque matchups for live events, the big shows, or Saturday Night's Main Event. Anyway they would tape for two of those shows at one time and it was an endless stream of crappy matches.

I cant really remember the specifics, but it had the Giant against Hulk in a steel cage so I'm sure it was fun. It was also outside whish was unique. The weasel match sounds funny. How much is it on ebay?

MillenniumMan831
02-03-2004, 11:42 PM
I don't see any up to bid right now. But depending on the condition of the box/video, I've seen it go for well over $50. I'd probably spend up to $20 online for it, but maybe more if I saw it at a store. It kinda depends when my last pay day was.

Can't say I've ever been to one of those marathon tv tapings, although I enjoyed watching some of those bums. Leaping Lanny Poffo and Barry O were two of my faves.

sinatrastar
02-03-2004, 11:48 PM
Yeah, I just checked and didnt see it. $50?? LOL, I wouldnt pay that either. If you ever see it on there give me a heads up, maybe I will get it and send you a tape if you want it. I used to tape a lot of those WWF Superstars or WWF Challenge matches, they were on Sunday right before football started.

Poffo actually made it to star status there for a while. Also the Brooklyn Brawler was a bum who become a semi-star for a while. I think Heenan managed him. I cant remember any others now.

MillenniumMan831
02-03-2004, 11:53 PM
My weekends revolved around Superstars/Challenge since I didn't have cable. Poffo actually got a win over Hulk Hogan on Sat Night's Main Event. And yeah, Lombardi did become the Brawler and ended up feuding with the Red Rooster. Some other great lesser known guys:

- Young Stallions
- Conquistadors
- Iron Mike Sharpe
- The Duke of Dorchestor Pete Dougherty
- Barry Horowitz
- Jimmy Jack Funk

There are tons others, but I can't remember any more.

I'll never forget WrestleMania V. Hulk Hogan facing the Macho Man. The Mega Powers EXPLODE . . . and what was the match that preceeded it?

Red Rooster vs. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. Rooster beat him in 30 seconds and sttod supreme in the ring.

I actually have an mp3 of his entrance theme. Kinda catchy in that whole hokey 80s rasslin way.
